INFORM YOURSELF BETTER my friend because ALL the DLC content they've made available is just what people who bought the Ultimate Edition of the game have been due, and nothing else.
All the DLC content you see in the store is that content that people already bought for the Ultimate Edition and that Milestone put on the store for individual purchase(s) by the people who only bought the base game.
There is no milking. The roadmap for the 1st YEAR after the game's release was available one month before the game launched (including here. It is still available in the Patches tab, I'll let you look for yourself if you want) and they haven't diverted an inch from that initial roadmap. It was all planned ahead and for you to buy knowingly...
People like you are just completely uninformed and unaware of what they buy and then complain because what they bought is different to what they thought it was gonna be. smh...
I don't own the game so I can only comment on what I've read. A reviewer complains that he owns both season passes but the developers keep putting out dlc that is not included in either season pass. That is the definition of milking. Rebuttal?
Well, what this reviewer says is simply not true.
I own the Ultimate Edition of the game on Xbox and it's like I've said, every little piece of DLC that has currently been released as a standalone is part of the 2 Season Passes or has been given for free by Milestone.
What is NOT included in the Ultimate version (the most expensive/comprehensive one) and the 2 Season Passes are the paid access to the Racing Seasons (Battle Pass thing, some part is free for everyone but the access to grind the unlock to the 6 cars is paid : 6 bucks for 65 days of Racing Season) and the access to the THIRD Season Pass that will start unraveling in June.
It has ALWAYS been written in black and white on the Roadmap of the game that SP3 and the Racing Seasons would be paid in ADDITION to even the most expensive version of the game.
In that regard, I don't think this is milking the game. You adhere to what Milestone had always planned for the game BEFORE RELEASE (Once gain, that roadmap was available to public information one month before the game released) or you don't, that's it. Nobody is forcing anybody else to buy anything...
AND, fyi, I'm not exactly fond of DLCs and Season Passes and such.
I generallly go for base versions of games, in 95% of cases.
I made an exception for this game because I was REALLY looking forward to it and I don't regret a single thing, the game is a BLAST :-)
I am 100% certain, FOR A FACT, that we will never get Mad Manga, Riveted or Reverb in Hot Wheels Unleashed.
UPDATE: I OFFICIALLY CONFIRM THAT MAD MANGA IS A CAR MOD
look at the player base, how do you think this game get more palyers? by adding dlc cars?
this game at the moment has 51 players. and 88 players at peak (24h) ...
dont be delusional, do the math for yourself:

Lol
Because I DON'T feel like I wasted my money maybe ??
Plus I don't care about Steam stats, I own and play the game on Xbox and I've never had any issue finding lobbies on there.
It seems to be a regular thing with Steam.
It's not the 1st time I hear people scream "DEAD GAME" on Steam when it's alive and well on consoles...
if the game has not enough palyers, the devs dont make any money, so they dont have any motivation to improve the game or add new dlc cars for you ...
simple math
i am the one who really cares about the game, while u are defending their business model which dont works (look at the stats)
dont be delusional bro, do the math for yourself
Whatever you say...
Just for your information, we're talking about Milestone here.
A company that copy-pastes almost all their games with little to no improvements to make yearly releases (MXGP, Ride, MOTO GP etc...).
They probably have no intention to do anything with the game past year one and made all the money they intended to make on this game on the upfront with people who bought the game at launch.
At best, they'll probably put it F2P and enable cross-play and call it a day to move on to something else, like they do every year...
yeah, its ok for you that they release a dead game ...
dont understand ur logic but ok
lol

This has been going on for almost time immemorial at this point. I'd say since WoW pioneered on this department back almost 20 years ago. It's more reasonable to pay 60 USD on a game which focuses heavily on a SP aspect, like Elden Ring, rather than a game like Hot Wheels Unleashed which has you grinding your life away to collect all cars for your collection.
If Fall Guys managed to have a breath of fresh air after the F2P announcement almost two years after its original release despite the bad rep of leaving Steam users behind when developer Mediatonic explicitly mentioned otherwise in the past, I'm sure Hot Wheels Unleashed still has a chance to catch up to a dedicated player base despite its EA-like approach with DLC content.
But that's sadly more of a Mattel decision rather than Milestone's since the former is the owner of the Hot Wheels IP, and considering we're talking about a traditional company ran by boomers who probably never touched a videogame in their whole lives.. guess it is what it is.
