Will it have steering wheel support?
I was hoping for at least some rudimentary steering wheel support just to have some more fun with the game myself, and for other people who have one

The controls to pitch and turn the car in the air are assigned to TWO analogue sticks, you cannot apply those combinations to a steering wheel without an extra peripheral. So you'd be playing with half the control options missing if you use a wheel and somehow assign it to work with the game.

That would work if it lets you rebind controls, might feel odd to get used to, but it would work.

You will need 6 buttons for the movement in the air alone, so, it still might not have enough buttons for this to work.

I mean why not just hit up and left for the angled directions I'd imagine it would work

Because that won't work. There's 6 unique inputs for air controls, you'll have a nightmare of a time using air control with a wheel.
There's pitch forward and pitch backwards
yaw left and yaw right (which is also the same command as steering, so this is what your wheel will do)
and roll left and roll right. You're gonna need to rewire your brain in a very odd way to get comfortable with a janky layout like that on wheel.

I play Distance and it has the same controls including more specific controls and works just fine.
