AI Has Infinite Boost on Hard Mode?

I've been keeping a close eye on the AI cars in hard mode and it really feels like the car in first place has infinite boost or keeps getting rubber-banded in front when I am about to get past them. I don't know if this is the case but it definitely feels like there's a frustrating advantage that the AI has over the player. Idk, it could just be me but I think this is something that should be looked at?

Rubberbanding happens in any mode and it's been a blight on racing games since forever. It's one of those features that makes me hate the genre as a whole because they continue to use it rather than make smart and fair AI.

I notice once you get a certain point past them they give up, just race your race till you can get ahead. Rubber banding is crazy but at least you have someone to race against i guess...

Just had a race where the car behind me just spawned in in front of me at a point where two tracks came together after a split. I am not impressed with the AI and how difficulty is handled.

Idk it feels significantly worse in this game

yep. Hard or Extreme mode Rubberbanding is not even subtle. hit anything and there is a car right behind at your tailpipe. also... the braking force overall should be slightly higher on all cars, so we dont become pinballs if we come at a corner too fast.
