Extracting is HORRIBLE
Everyone sprinting and leaving anyone that isn't fast enough behind in a mad dash to get to extraction vehicle is terrible design.

Please make extraction happen INSIDE bases in a part of the base that players CANNOT build on. Designated area. Horde waves increase once ARC is done doing its thing and team must hold out. Extraction vehicles land shortly after ARC is finished and wait period commences. Extraction vehicles CAN be destroyed so up to players to guard until time to extract. I would make it, players in the zone automatically extract since to players should be outside the drop ship guarding.

Short animation of air vehicle flying out would be nice too, IF successful. If not, animation showing team overrun and bugs decimating, maybe fire breather beetle burrows out from below and scorches everyone + destroying the air vehicles. QoL.

Not only is this more accurate to that iconic scene in the first movie. I think it would be more fun.

Agree. In extractions I like to be first, not to ensure I survive, but to get some distance and then support the rest of the fleeing players. Evey class has its uses for this: the mobility of the hunter is very good to move in and out of trouble while you help people, the bastion can get to an elevated area and mow down the pursuing bugs shooting over the heads of the players, and support can snipe out many of those buggers from quite some distance.

It's one of the things that make this game awesome.

Extracting is the best .

One time the dropship landing zone was beneath a huge cliff . Everyone were yelling the fleeing troops to make the leap of faith as the bug rapidly closing in .

The other time i was the one who ran last , being chased by crap ton of bug and , downed , got revive by a healing UAV and then got greet by a wall of Bastion who scream " Run buddy run " .

could not even find the extract ship, died trying to spot a path to it. The icon for it is so small, easy to lose sight of, The map was very maze. the dark and haze and bugs in my face made it impossible to find my way. Is there / does it need a map inset that can be brought up to help you see the broader area and figure out where u are in compare to the ship and pathways? EDIT AHH found how to use the map. yes, very low skill player. its on tab.

UI markers for objectives could use some work for sure. They just blend in with all the other clutter at the moment.

It is moronic to expect your combatants to run through swarms of bugs sometimes over 250 meters and up ramps and over terrain to get to a drop ship that should be closer to the objective.

To locate the drop zone quick , one can look for the orange beam . That where the drop ship is.

Having a 16 player co-op that brings in the worst to the best of people its so much fun when intense situations like a shuttle base that can't land too close. Reminds me of the terrain commanders you can follow orders or no one gets left behind.

If the team works together for all survivors feels great being part of a unit. If the team crumbles and its a fight for yourself that feels great as well, very immersive. Sitting on a building with your friends watching your team mates flee wildly while your trying to lay down cover fire for them as they die one by one, then your squad sees an opening and goes as a group and survives. I am glad they have it outside the base its more rewarding.

Even if no friends and your team has completely failed, the rush for survival hits close to the bugs in sheer numbers war that is going on.

My favorite thing about a thread like this is that a new game releases to steam in a bare bones early access state with an amazing 92% very positive steam rating and the FIRST thing that goes through some people's minds is:

"I could change core foundational parts of that experience and make a better game." The hubris of some folks lol.

I love extractions. The true challenge of the mission is getting out alive. I've also seen really smooth extractions where the team actually does a firing retreat. It was a hard difficulty extract and 16 folks made it out doing that.

Thanks Will look for it on next try. Was thinking pathway arrows that could appear a bit more center screen as if projected on visor - up if going right way, or to side or down if u need to turn. or path markers leading there ( hey molly: point me where am i going. lol.)
I think i was subconsciously just running a big spiral circle to the right because what i thought was the "marker" was always on my right top corner so i was try to reach it, could not see if it was actually a marker or what it was - just constantly trying to turn toward it.

I like the extraction setup, but on Hard Arc mode the entire extraction ends up being who can exploit the A.I by climbing the best. This might get fixed once flyers exist though.
