Questions that are difficult to answer without context. As EA titles go, this one crashes a little but seems reasonably stable. I have some issues with lobby connection, so do others, but for most people it isn't a crippling problem. The graphics and sound are decent.
Right now, there's a few small areas for fights and basebuilding. Generally, the action is frantic and mostly mindless shooter fun. Some people complain about hackers and griefers. The games I've been in have all been reasonably co-operative. You do depend on 15 other people to keep the game entertaining. There needs to be more content and quite a bit more optimization. What limited amount there is to do in the game now is decent fun, I think. If you like travelling to far off lands and seeing exotic and rare things, and killing them, this game is good for that.
If you're looking for Spit and Polish, you'll pass the Parade but die retrieving ya guts on a far-flung Rock across the Ecliptic...
They've recently shared the road map for development and it looks like the game is going to go from good to great
Give it a whirl you can always refund, you'll know if you like it or not within 30 minutes
The memes by the community in and -out of the game are way better than the actual game.
Remove the Starship Troopers theme and you have a pretty bad FPS game from the early 2000s with outdated and underwhelming mechanics, terrible shooting, its saving grace only being the base building.
I like it because it's 1). a Starship Troopers game and 2). it feels kinda like a FPS/RTS Command & Conquer; if you were one of the infantry troops that you order around.
However, I have no illusions in my mind that if the game didn't have the Starship Troopers theme going for it, the game would have been dead on arrival.
Some of the bad stuff is due to being a EA and others are probably ingrained in the base design of the game due to budget limits.
if they dont add a lot it will drop to 4/10 because its getting stale already
Im thinking they'll add some things but perhaps not enough to get it above a 6/10 in the end.
