They make you pay for the editor for starters and if you think about it you are literally paying for minimal changes each year when you buy the next game in the series.... It literally has about what 2-3 superficial features, they change some names around, update the transfers and slap a coat of new paint on the interface... You're literally paying $60 for 85% of last years game... Also if they could come up with a reasonable way to include micro-transactions, trust me, they would.. FIFA at the very least has graphical updates which actually cost time and money, update to physics engines, A.I., game modes, etc.... (Not that I'm defending FIFA, but at the very least try to compare games that are in the same realm of logic)
Also your free updates are literally two transfer windows.... WOW, they shifted some players around, you can literally do that yourself in the editor... (Bug fixes don't count, they wouldn't have as many issues if they didn't rush each game out the window )
I'm glad you like the game, keep playing it! Seriously, but our complaints are valid, I agree that you must love football very much to truly enjoy this game, but there those of us who have been playing these types of games since Championship Manager and when we see the same problems each year, with them ignoring feedback and continuously rushing the game out each year for profit purposes, it gets aggravating. When you have a game that is about tactics and your choices and they clearly don't work (such as wingplay), you're paying for a broken game. Is it really choice if I'm forced down specific tactics because others are broken? Is it really choice when the AI is using said OP tactic and I have to match that tactic to even get close to winning?Months go by with no acknowledgement and no fixes, then we get the neat little yearly message "No more updates noobs, working on next game now, get wrekt" it sucks...
There is no bias. If the AI were smarter, the suspicious that there was a bias would increase tenfold (which is probably one of the reasons why they don't code to make it smarter). The AI has an edge over anybody though who turns matches into simplistic contests of who had the most shots. The AI never cared about the shots. It only cares about the goals scored, and makes changes based on current scorelines during a match. If it's the big match underdog, which it often is due to the human manager's success, it may park the bus from kick-off content with a draw, only to attack for minutes of a match (or set pieces). One-sided match stats are then simply a byproduct of its defensive tactical picks. That's where it scores from few shots -- human players universally play attacking tactics, and come against a defensive AI bend on soaking up shots in fewer space (lots of defend duty players, low lines, keeping things compact in generral). It's only a matter of time and probability until the AI scores off fewer shots. Sometimes it may do so luckily, sometimes it may even score off a bug, however eventually it will happen.
It's not hard to at least match the AI's conversion. And that's not a defense of the game. Rather, the AI should become smarter and develop alongside the series, however, see above. Everything the AI can you could have always done better. https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/452462-youve-been-fmd/?tab=comments#comment-11561005
Few even try though, or go a bit on the extreme, losing all attacking oomph. https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/391460-park-the-bus/
Your comparisons make zero sense, trying to say the game is good because it doesn't have micro transactions, how is that in any way relevant to the bugs the game has or the lack of concrete new features or significant engine improvements? You are literally a biased fan boy who is bashing FIFA and promoting FM by simply saying Micro-transactions over and over while providing zero facts to back up anything you say. FIFA does implement changes (existing and new game modes, graphics, game systems, etc), more than this game I might add, despite that, no it's still not enough. FM adds a handful of new words or changes some up, fixes some bugs that should have been taken care of while creating new ones, as I said prior we get maybe 1-3 new superficial features and a new coat of paint, WOW, SO AMAZING.
All you are doing is trash talking FIFA in the hopes it makes FM look better, because guess what, you can't provide any relevant facts to counter others or support your bias other than " I can manage a second league team WOW" "FIFA is trash"
In no shape or form am I saying FM is the worst game ever, what I am saying is it has issues that aren't fixed because of a ridiculously short development and support cycle with a significantly smaller dev team so not much gets done from year to year. Hence, we have snowballing problems every, single, year.
That's cool, you hate FIFA, but it has zero to do with FM other than they are both Football related games. While FIFA has game modes that let you choose your team it is in no shape or form anything like FM where it's inherently a Management simulator. You're comparing apples to oranges, yes they are both fruits but two entirely different ones. FIFA's metacritic score in no shape and form says anything about FM, why? Because again, they are two different genres, their developers aren't even affiliated for crying out loud....
You say that FM isn't money hungry yet the proof is right in front of you... 1 year of development and support and that's it... period! Want more? Spend $60 on the new game... but wait! It's pretty much last years game!
Also I'm not denying anything about your in game experience, but you have yet to provide any relevant facts nor have you shown anything other than you are 100% biased.
Want to know why their aren't any micro-transactions in the game aside form what I said prior? Here are some stats:
FMs record number of players : 90,000+
FIFA's number of players: 37,600,000
Hmmmm.... I wonder why FIFA has Micro-transactions.... hmmm.....
Listen, keep enjoying the game m8, I'm glad for you, but I'm done trying to explain basic things to you. It's getting nowhere.
Well, the limited AI can. Naturally, it's working best against opposition who still attack themselves. If you're top of the game world, lots of teams play defensive /cautious tactics as the AI views itself as the underdog in almost every match. [In prior releases in particular, this was far too extreme, e.g. Barcelona parking the bus at home etc].
All of this still applies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8erK2WZ6bME
first idiot here.
In the national league, I didn't concede a single goal, in both playthroughs! Funniest thing about it, I didn't even remotely try! For this reason alone, I simply cannot enjoy this game. There was even a message informing me that I made club history by not conceding for so long.. WITHOUT EVEN TRYING!!!
Guess, I am an accidental defensive genius or something, lol..
In UCL group stage, couldn't win a single game in both playthroughs! What's even funnier here is that I've conceded at least two goals every single time in both playthroughs, while I, as I said, didn't concede at all in national league..
Talk about rubbing it in.. 🤡
