But as we've stated many times before, going down the 'real life spending money' route is not a direction we feel is beneficial or realistic for a football management simulation like Football Manager.
Thanks.
I'm talking about ingame features not about microtransactions. Be able to change stadium capacity, buying a club with your earning as manager, be able to have private life etc.
FM 2020 is great but missing so many feauters that would i love to see.
EA canceled after 2014 idk reason but it waa awesome game to play with friends, since you could make up to 4 profiles and play together as club managers/owners. I have so much great memories from that time :)
That's what I meant by 'real life spending money' - "buying a club with your earning as manager, be able to have private life" - we do not feel is beneficial or realistic for a football management simulation like Football Manager.
In real life managers don't have any influence on the stadium capacity - that's something outside of their remit so there are no plans to include it.
And you don't want the game to go down the path of what you see in games like Madden and NBA 2K. However I think there are maybe a few aspects from FIFA manager that should have a chance to be included.
I wouldn't mind implementing better marketing for the club and to increase sales. I'd also like to see ways in which you could install satellite youth academies/centers across the globe. Nothing extreme, but just some small add-ons.
lost a customer here
Same here. I'm probably gonna buy FM 2021 regardless but I would also love some of the features that FIFA manager as well as many other older football manager games had and are completely missing from the football manager series.
One of my favorite things in other football manager games was always designing and building my own stadium. Especially when you are the club owner.
But I do understand their reasoning as in Football Manager you aren't a club owner but just the head coach of a team and your options are therefore limited.
Btw. probably next year a game called "Anstoss 2022" is going to release which is the successor of the highly beloved (in Germany at least) Anstoss football manager series where the last game came out like 15 years ago.
The Anstoss (engl. title "on the ball") series was created and most successful under the head designers that would later go to EA to start EA's FIFA manager series. There are still some dedicated fans that still play Anstoss 3 which came out 20 years ago and who share databases with up to date rosters and (in my opinion) is by far the best football manager game ever. Although the game simulation and some other aspects are very outdated by todays standard.
So in Anstoss 2022 you may expect a similar gameplay like in the FIFA managers where you will be able to build and extend the stadium for your club as well as spend the money you earn on things. I'm not entirely sure what languages the game will be available in though (besides German) but I'm sure it will be localized in English at least.
It has become complacent and a bit arrogant.
a serious competitor would help us all ... even FM.
I'm curious too. For me and many Germans the game "Anstoss 3" or "On the ball 3" was the best football manager game ever and Anstoss 2022 tries to use that game (not any of later Anstoss games that weren't as good) as a base. I really hope they can recreate the spirit of the game. It's focus is different from Football Manager. Like there will be more focus on your clubs economy, making advertisement deals, building stadium and other buildings, having a private life and your money to spend stuff on etc. so you aren't just strictly the coach but act in many roles of club management. It won't be as in depth as Football Manager, especially in terms of the game engine calculations it will be more arcade. However it's not clear yet. The earliest we could tell is from January 2021 kickstar early access or June release date.
Btw. the people who founded and created the Anstoss series were the ones that would later go to EA to start making the FIFA Manager. However none of them will be involved in the development of Anstoss 2022 as it's a completely different development team. So it's unclear how well the game will turn out to be.
again this is a game .... it;'s not real life. I'm pretty sure capello, zidane, cruyff, busby :D etc did NOT learn to be great manager by playing a game!
this post is the best reason why this game NEEDS competition!
and btw FM didn't die because it's bad to have stadium building, it died because EA is never satisfied with a game that makes less than 100 mil+ / year
