Seems like it might be something "more" then just a "text fix", something that they might not be telling us about?
And yes, i have seen the comments that say it is the normal way for UE to work when you have to compile and release an update, but i just still find it suspicious that the update filesize is that large.
Well who knows?
Maybe it's nothing, maybe it has a DARK secret.... or maybe a surprise?
If the text file change (actual size about 500kb i.e.) you need to change is located within a package file that is 1.2gb, then you can't just download that specific part of the package file but need to download the entire file. Yeah, that sucks. Noone likes it, but that's the ominous reason this is such a big download.
For all games that don't store every single file on your disk separately. It has pros and contras, but also depends on the engine and compression method a game uses.
It's good to question things, but it's just consequent to be open for a reasonable answer. :)
This is a console port. The only reason this is being dragged to PC is making some more bucks with the same game on another platform on minimal effort invested. They didn't rush themselves either to switch this to PC, so priorities never were locked on PC optimisation. As sad as this sounds.
