This is just a General Vent of Displeasure... I'm not actually trying to get anyone's Dander Up.

I just don't get games that want you to Play out another person's Story. This looks like an Awesome game (Kind of a FallOut Feel); and I Love FallOut!! But what I love most is being able to Play Myself... or, at least, a Self-Described Persona of Myself. I just don't understand why Some Developers only want you to play Their Character. It's like reading an Adventure instead of Creating an Adventure. I have no investment in this deacon guy... why should I care if he Lives or Dies; Why would I care what decision he makes; and Why would I even care about a World in which I'm not living? In today's world of programming, it just doesn't make sense not to allow the Player to Create their own Avatar, and play out their Own Fantasy Life... versus, watching what the Developer's Character is doing.

Why do I care? Because this is Exactly the type of game I would have enjoyed Playing!!! :(

its almost as if you're playing a game about another character in another world. you want all that? go play fallout new vegas, you wont find another game that does all this you're asking for, unless you walk outside and go do ♥♥♥♥ yourself

So then stick to FO.........There are games that have your own, personal character. Then there are games like this where you play as someone who has a story.

The problem is that the story is pretty bad, but even worse, the main character Deacon is a jackass, and a dumb jackass to boot/

He thought the Pilgrims were the first ''white'' explorers. No moron, that would have been the Vikings, about a 1000 years earlier. If you want to be smartass, at least get your historical facts right about the history of your own continent.

All the whining and complaining about Radio Free Oregon was also grating. Dude, just shut up and listen to the man. Copeland is the smartest guy in the entire game. Why am I stuck playing as this make believe ''Bikers for Kamela'' emotional toddler? It seems half the time his voice is spiking in some sort of overemotional crybaby state.

The game is pretty good, but Deacon? Oofff... what a child.

It's as simple as the protagonist's persona has to mesh with the story they're telling. Otherwise there's not much of a story to tell. Personally I think they did a fine job on Deac.

Because they enjoy this? Because developers want the player to experience the story as the main character of it? Because people like to associate themselves with the main character instead of being an observer?

It's "go do sh/it yourself" not "go do ♥♥♥♥ yourself". Like typing "Go fu/ck yourself." instead of "Go ♥♥♥♥ yourself".
