Instructions for how to downgrade to previous version.
Reposting from the user "D-Fens".

"This is what I did.

Enter this from a web browser or the Run command: steam://open/console

Then in the Steam console type:

download_depot 1259420 1259421 2120063653185364239

This will download the old version to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_1259420

(it doesn't appear in the downloads window so there is no indication it's downloading, but it is.)

When it's done, copy it to your Days Gone folder in steamapps\common\Days Gone

Finally, find the file steamapps\appmanifest_1259420.acf, right click it and make it read only, this stops Steam updating it again."

Edit: Oh, and set Days Gone update settings to "Update only when I launch the game". This should at least definitively prevent Steam from trying to ever update the game until you want it to.

Just be sure if you want to revert back to the newer version (especially after the fix it), you'll want to uninstall the game first, then delete the Days Gone folder in the steamapps\common folder (or rename it), and then download the game from scratch. If you try to update the rolled-back version, it will not launch. You need a clean Days Gone folder or else it won't patch it correctly for some reason.
where does this file download to? cant find it
nevermind, was in the wrong folder.
:UltimateChameleon: Thank you very much!
