cant find hordes during the day

Hordes should be hidden during the day right?
I have a map of hordes caves, i can find the caves, but they are always empty .. so they are active during the day too?
Also .. arent the hordes kinda way too small? I saw videos from PS4 some time ago, kinda lot more zombies ..

The later into the game you are, the bigger the Freaker hordes are, also check out challenge mode for MASSIVE hordes.

Some hordes only appear a bit later as the story progresses. When I began I was wondering too why a lot of weird caves were empty.

I disagree, it's better to attack them in the nest where you can burn a bunch of them and get an easy position to thin their numbers with gunfire

I'm not saying against you about fighting the horde when horde are waking up from their hibernate, How my text made it sound like i was explaining fighting against hordes beats me. I think my text was clear on that. What i did was to explain when op did ask where the horde are and if horde are active during daytime. Perhaps it is my grammar spooking or i simply did misunderstand op's question, idk.

About farming, i simply give him an advice from my own experience most effective way when to find materials to be able to craft items so i am prepered to counter hords during their active hours, as in general so to speak. Ofc there is exeptions to this also. . This was just a side note to his question nothing more, nothing less.

Sheesh...

But to tackle your other questions is hordes at the start are small-ish, they do get bigger and theyre not always in caves. Lumbermill and the Train next to a Nero station are an example.

Move a reasonable distance away from the cave in question then come back, they should then spawn in there. You also want to be checking the cave after, say, 10am (giving the horde time to wander back as the sun rises).
Noticed the same myself just now while I was passing time after beating the main story.

Honestly, just do the hordes after story. Every location where they are is revealed. I just did them all and had no trouble finding any. Should save a lot of time if you are just looking for them.

Killing hordes reward you with some of the best weapons in the game, so the earlier you can get access to them the better.

i know all that .. just saying, my problem is, the hordes are out all the time .. once it happened that i was in a cave, it was empty, went out and the same second horde spawned back inside the cave .. but so far the time i am playing, its outside, during the day, during the night ..

The game acts weird with reloading, I don't know how it respawns hordes, once the game auto saved inside a Nero research site inside a cave when I died and respawned I was immediately greeted by some unhappy freaks. Other times when I save next to a cave when a horde is just about to leave, the despawn and I have to leave and come back later. So.... The game does weird things.

Yea, but the AI is so stupid it really doesnt matter what weapon you use.

I had this happen to me a couple of times. There was a cave in the middle of the map where it's all snow. I drew out a horde and all of a sudden they disappeared. They were than in some random spot and not even all together so it took a while to get the remaining stragglers.

This game is really bad with enemies spawning and de-spawning.

Sure, but I'd still take the SMP9, Auto Shotgun and the IDF PUP early to late game over the M9, SAF and M7, because their DPS, ammo pool and capacity, etc, are objectively better regardless if the AI is stupid or not. Oh, and you can take out hordes easily with them too.

i am having insane problem with these 3 hordes .. they just dont spawn at all, nothing seems to be working .. rest are fine, can be found somehow with some tinkering from 08 to 18
