right click DaysGone exe, choose properties, go to compatibility tab and check 'run as admin'.
voilà
This issue exists even if you apply a frame rate unlock patch to ps4 or ps4 pro then the game runs above 30 and starts doing these slow downs everyone is mentioning but like you said its a game engine issue then why the hell the game is running fine with no speed issues on PS5? Even digital fondry mentioned in there video that game runs fine on ps5 with 60fps but the PC version has speed slow down issue while riding on a bike
That's actually a great point becoz both my gaming Laptop & desktop are using 16gb DDR3 ram in dual channel with gtx980m gpu on laptop & gtx980 gpu on desktop. Also the PS5 version of days gone is just ps4 version with frame rate patch applied to it, there are no other graphical improvements so its safe to say that the PS5's hardware is brute forcing through the games slow down issue, that same thing applies to the people owning rtx3080 & "saying oh i don't have any speed issues". GDDR5 RAM could be mitigating this issue or the faster memory on newer Gpu's, it could be anything unless we are sure of the root cause. Soo when guys like these who own super high end gpu's like 3080 which is a rare commodity these days come & say they don't have any issues are just making the whole point of this discussion irrelevant. Sure the Gtx980 isn't a high end gpu by any means but still its far more powerful then all of the last gen consoles.
Well locking the fps to 45 in the nvidia control panel & the disabling the Vsync almost eliminates the issue, that's the only fix i have came across that works.
