The game have started to crash just outside the Wizard Island main gate
Started to happen 3 weeks ago.

Have played around 100 hours so far without any problems, but since mid july the game have started to have 2 freeze's and crash on the last freeze.
It only happens when I drive out the main gate (The gate closest to the mechanic) at Wizard Island, after you have driven over the bridge, out the gate and choose to drive left to area around Diamond Lake.

First freeze is around 10 seconds after I left the camp (When you come to the first left turn on the road up the hill), and next come 15 - 20 sec later (When you have driven over the hill, and just arrived to the road in the burned out area) then the game crashes and closes down.

(This did'nt happen when I first started to play at Wizard Island, and have driven this road to Diamond Lake camp many times before.)

So now I can not complete the "What Kept Me Going mission" which is a bit boring, as I would like to progress to getting napalm

(If I drive right on the map i can play for hours)

My error message is :

C:\Bend\ProjectRedChair\Unreal\Game-PC\Engine\Source\Runtime\Core\Public\Serialization\Archive.h(96): LowLevelFatalError
FMemoryWriter does not support data larger than 2GB. Archive name: None.

Latest WIN 11 updates installed pr 12.August 2022,
Latest NVIDIA Driver installed (516.94).

My spces :

Windows 11 Pro
ROG STRIX Z390-F
Intel Core i9 @ 3.10GHz
The game installed on Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB
32,0GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti

(Also tried with my old 1080 TI to check that it's nothing with the GPU, but same result)

Things av I have tried to do :
Have verified the game files in steam many times.
Have re-installed the game.
Have uninstalled Nvidia 516. drivers and tried 512. drivers.
Have tried diffrent display settings.

Anyone else have the same problem ?

Any tips before I try to re-install the computer it self.

You don't have to follow the route mapped out for you. I'm sure you already know this. Have you tried going out the South gate, going right and around Crater Lake, to join the mapped route further on? That might bypass your problem area, and once that mission is completed, the glitch might correct itself.
This sounds like a glitch tied to this mission, it has become locked in somehow. The mission starts, you follow the mapped route, out the gate, turn left, the game freezes, you carry on, get to the road, the game crashes. It's as if this has become locked into this missions written software. I've seen posts mentioning this type of behaviour before, in this and other games. The only way around it is to go around the glitch area. The next time you do this mission, in NG+ or a completely new replay, it should run as intended.

Re-installing the computer itself seems a bit extreme, for the sake of 1 program.
Your rig looks to be more than capable of running DG, what monitor is it all driving?
And you'll need at least an 850W PSU to run it all comfortably.
I'm no hardware expert btw, just curious. A high spec gaming rig has to be balanced to run high graphics games. Getting one major piece wrong puts the balance out of kilter. I only know this from chatting with much more expert people than I am in other forums.
Although playing fine for 100 hours, I'd suppose everything is pretty well balanced anyway. You would've been having glitches all the way through if it wasn't.

Another thought.
I take it you've done other missions from Crater Lake, since this problem came up? You haven't been, restarting and going straight back to this mission every time? If you're on another mission which involves, going out the North gate and turning left, does it freeze and crash in the same places on those missions too? Or even just choosing that route while on a different mission? I don't know what it means if it crashes on these examples. But if it doesn't, that definitely points to the freeze and crash being tied to that mission.

Thanks. Had not tried that. Did manage to find a path around inside the mission area and got to finish it up.

Yes, all good now, have finished up all storymissions and side missions.
The game will still crash in the same area, but as long as i find alernatives routes, or just fast travel when need it's good. Rest of map works fine.

That's still a pain in the rear though. It shouldn't be happening.
