Does this game still install spyware?
Held off on this game due to numerous reports upon release that it installed spyware onto your PC and data tracking. Has that changed?

It's not spyware, and you know you can turn off sending that data correct?

Sorry no one's been able to answer your question. I can't either; just sorry for this toxic community's non-replies.

Hi!
So for my part, you should think to stop believing everything that circulates on the internet...

Then, this link will tell you that the data collection is the same as all the other games. = https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/nh6kfq/days_gone_data_collection_is_this_for_real/

This one will allow you to disable them. = https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/you-can-now-disable-days-gone-data-collection-on-pc

If you ever used ANY social media platform, odds are it has gathered more information on you than this game will in many years.

If you're really scared then just turn off your internet when playing this game, its not that hard.

Or just be like the majority and not give a damn, its too late now, whoever wanted information on your is and will be able to get it from just using google quickly.

Odds are if you're not some hillbilly dude who has lived all his life in the middle of the bumf#ck nowhere without any reception or connection to the internet, there is already plenty of information on you collected.

First response answered him, to be more specific about how to turn it off, when you first boot it asks you if you want to send usage data to them, you can accept or decline with 1 button press.

Try not to be such a little wanker, at least read the responses before you make false claims.

Delete all online accounts and associated data, wipe all devices you own, buy new ones that you will never connect to the Internet and you'll be safe from all the "spyware". What the hell makes you think you're so special that someone would care about spying on you?

This post is hilariously hypocritical and absurd. The best part is that you can literally opt out of the data collection crap and you don't even need a microscope to spot that option, it's right in your face all over the screen.

What sensitive information can a singleplayer game even take from you and how could it possibly profile you? It knows who you are and where you live based on your key bindings and mouse sensitivity?

Yeah, I don't want tons of cheated leaderboard scores like in Alien: Isolation. That's an online aspect and it affects others. I hope all cheaters get banned, they don't deserve to touch a game because they're absolute degenerates who clearly don't even understand the concept of having fun.

If it's true that it runs a keylogger then I'd have to ask you what the ♥♥♥♥ you're talking about.

Interesting what people consider as being 'Spyware' nowadays 🤣

Even more funny they do so on Steam.
Are those guys aware on the fact, that the steam platform itself collects more of their data than any game in their steam library could do?

And Valve barely offers an option to prevents them from doing so.

Game launchers aren't Spyware.
The data they collect is usually used for bugtrackin, account management and statistics to plan upcoming products.

So nothing but any other digital distributed product does nowadays.

If you don't like that, don't go online.

well if they collect more data then needed for improving the game then it is spyware, i don't know how much this1 collects but this is a fact. and some game corpos have had issue with that, it came public and they had to stop it, forgot with what game it was

here is what 1review says:
Didn't get a chance to buy this on PS4, so when I saw it on steam by the recommendation of a friend I bought it. So far so good, but you're going to want to use whatever Firewall you have on your computer to block the ♥♥♥♥ out of this game the moment you install it.

The Data Collection policy is an absolute joke. This isn't just collecting Diagnostic information from your PC (something I would be absolutely okay with), it states very blatantly that even the 'Limited' data collection which is somehow still the LESS invasive form of collection can look and save literally anything from websites, passwords via recording EVERY KEY STROKE OF YOUR COMPUTER WHILE THE GAME IS RUNNING, folders, and all of their contents regardless of file type. Again, the LEAST of the ONLY 2 Data collection settings you can select before it will even allow you to start the game says that the devs can collect and save anything from your pc at their own discretion. Their reason? To make sure you aren't aimbotting... IN A COMPLETELY 100% OFFLINE EXPERIENCE GAME. Like my 8k res special occasion ♥♥♥♥ pic folder is hiding DAYS_GONE_SPINBOT_100%_ACCURACY.exe.

At least Valorant's Vanguard system is inspecting every single pixel of my pubic hair in those photos to help keep Integrity in their ONLY ONLINE COMPETITIVE game which is why it's even remotely passable.

This isn't some Tinfoil hat ♥♥♥♥, people have dead ass copy/pasted both data policies in their reviews and I thought they were embellishing to make a fuss and refund a game they didn't like, until I booted the game and saw it for myself.

What an absolutely abysmal call, and for damn sure the next time I see this kind of ♥♥♥♥ in an offline only game I will not be buying it, i'll be acquiring it by other means, there are plenty out there. ♥♥♥♥ out of here with that ♥♥♥♥.

TL;DR Fun game, worth the money, use whatever AV Firewall you have on your computer to block literally anything to do with this game to rebuke it's access to the internet or you might find your nudes on an Ad spot on Wish because it will have been claimed and sold by the Data Collection Center as they have the right to do so once you agree to the terms.

The reviewer clearly is computer illiterate and unable to comprehend basic privacy policies.
