WTF are up with these things being impossible to get to? One SE of Copeland's camp, looks like you're supposed to jump over with a bike but even with nitro boost the bike doesn't make it and if you try to go around it's all rocks and suddenly Deacon has lost the ability to climb things when the designers are trying to heard you the way THEY want you to get to it. ♥♥♥♥ is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid

Agree, I have come across two now on the map and I am directly on top of the cross yet the site is no where to be seen either underground or on the ground, I guess this is another one of these bugs that the hardcore fans continue to say don't exist lol

I just did this an hour ago then opened steam forums to see this.
It took three tries with the best engine and nitro, using nitro too early and you will fail, keep to the left of the jump ramp every pixel closer to the target helps and the target sticks out a little more on the left side too for you to land on.

The Nero Cliffs in the Cascades (Copeland's territory) are the absolute HARDEST to overcome. Even in the later maps, no other landscape is worse than the ones in the Cascades.

There are NERO research sites in caves, where the entrance to the cave is some distance away from the cross icon. The icon is directly above the actual site.
The research site you have to jump across a gap to reach, in Cascades, can only be reached from one run up point. You need a better engine, or to hit nitro at just the right spot.

This map gives you some directions to the entrances which aren't obvious.
