Report a translation problem
The non story hordes just have about 100 - 200 freakers in them.
But all story hordes have a lot of barrels and other explosive stuff near them, or you can block ways by passing thru narrow doors, or blocking them by throwing stuff in the way...
i bet they wanted to give you the feeling / gameplay they've shown at E32016...
and make it actionpacked and so on.

Starting to figure out the numbers.
And yeah, won't manage a horde like that - I just end up panicking and running...
As someone said before, and I remembered until now: When you start Days Gone, even the sight of a horde will make you break a sweat, run and cower for your life. But at some point, they will no longer even phase you.
I've reached that point a while ago. The story hordes really force you to adapt quickly, and they do it well. So I'd say savour the fear while you can
