I'm using these mods and about to start Survival II. I wanted a challenging experience. Base game is simply too easy for me. I also don't buy ammo from camps, only found ammo will be used. There are even more ways to make the game harder in some of these mods' options.
Unreal - not a reshade tweak
FN SCAR as US556
Better gore
Better flashlight
4k realism textures
Undead Freaker
Environmental Explosions
Hound wolf squad - character
Modern Silencer
Modern Silencer Rotation Fix
Increased spawners and ambushes
Risky business
Aggressive screamers
Massive Hordes - default
All are Deadly - Deadly by Night
** Not installed but I've used before.
M4A1 best restore - Great mod but ups the damage of US556 by 2x, way too OP imo.
Make sure the mods you install are compatible with each other. You can't install 2 different weapon balance mods for example, one will overwrite the other. Also, backup your saves. Weapon balance mods generally attach to your save files if they are changing ammo values, the mods I mentioned doesn't affect my save files so keep that in mind.
