Blocking game firewall
Hi guys,

I'm interested in purchasing this game however the first review off the game says that the game collects lots of data while its running including KEY STROKES and information about files and folders.

The reviewer recommends blocking the game from internet access with your firewall.
If I do block the game from internet access with my firewall will it also block the game from uploading saves onto the steam cloud server?? I don't want to put hours into the game then lose save data because I blocked it on the firewall or because it confuses steam saves and local saves.

The review you mention is not entirely accurate.
Some IGN "journalist" took it and blew things way out of proportions.

No the data/logs sent to the developers are through the games .exe calling the CRS uploader.exe, you should be fine just blocking the main executable "DaysGone.exe" but you can also delete the crs-uploader.exe which some have said is the data collector tool, when in fact after looking at Network connections it's clear the games main .exe has active network connections to servers at all times, after blocking the main .exe there are no connections to their servers only Steams, if your unsure about deleting the crs-uploader.exe just move it another location for now or also block that in the firewall.

How it looks blocked using a TCP/UDP Network viewer tool:

How it looks blocked using the command line:

The cloud saves are separate and are uploaded to Steams cloud servers.

Also I have read the Privacy policy and it states nothing of "Key Loggers" only gameplay/hardware configuration data being sent or data they collect if you use their website.
