I think I actually broke Story completely.
This should probably be fixed somehow as I had no way of knowing not to go to the Cemetery on foot. It doesn't prevent you doing so.
just enjoy the fun of the game and go wherever you want
You don't have to wait for the bike to be fixed. Copelands mechanic throws together a junk bike from parts he has available, while you are walking around the camp, talking to Copeland.
You were supposed to ride to the cemetery, you're supposed to ride everywhere. I can't remember how far it is from Copelands Camp to the cemetery, but it's much further than 1/2km, and that's the straight line distance. Just to do a 500m straight line distance you'd have to walk at least 1km. Also there's a zombie feeding ground on the route.
Your bike is quicker than walking or running and can carry more equipment. Even at the beginning, as a junker, it's still faster than zombies can run.
Tuckers Camp comes up quite early in the story. You'll do jobs for Copeland and Tucker, to earn camp credits, which you spend on ammo, and to upgrade your weapons and bike.
P.S. Tucker is no lady!
