I know it's a pain in the ass, but try other games and if it doesn't occur there then it's definitely this game. I can see that you've already tried messing with software to no avail. Best of luck to you!
Thanks for your reply! It seems like I'm indeed having issues in other games as well. Metro Exodus is also crashing when I start it, and while Age of Empires II DE is running, it's having some weird graphic glitches.
Is it a new graphics card I have to buy to fix this?
If your PC is a prebuilt they might ask to 'test' it. Do NOT allow them to run their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ benchmarking software as it will not pick anything up. Create a specific list of all the games that have this issue on your PC. Eventually, I had to send my PC back for a third time because the company tried to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me with their benchmarking software that didn't recreate the crashes. Make sure they test your PC with the exact games you're having an issue with!
I have had the most new parts in my computer since 2016-2017, so I'm pretty sure the warranty period has expired for all parts. I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and I read on the Nvidia homepage that the warranty period is only 3 years.
So do you think the graphics card is the only problem or could it be something else? Do you think it's possible to fix it by cleaning it or will I have to buy a new one?
I'd try a fresh reinstall of NVIDIA drivers with DDU and if that doesn't work last ditch attempt would be a Windows reinstall (total wipe, don't keep any files and back them up on a HDD). Otherwise, I think it's time for a new GPU sadly.
Check for Windows Updates in settings and click that "check for updates" button. In my experience that update page often shows no updates when there are some available.
Try running Windows SFC in command prompt or powershell
It's built in windows to let your PC check and restore any corrupt Windows System files.
Its resolved many odd and seemingly unrelated things for my work PCs. (sysadmin)

Probably won't make a difference - but do your games still have issues after you uninstall just the GeForce Experience software and reboot PC?
If any game needs a special setting (ie. custom fps limit#) the Nvidia control panel (icon on taskbar by time/date) still provides all of that functionality by manually editing global settings also can be done per game.
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that it's a hardware issue. I can add that my computer crashed and I heard some strange noises right before these issues. I just didn't want to mention it in the original post because I was hoping for a solution that does not involve buying a new graphics card.
I'm going to try the steps you suggested tomorrow in the morning even if it's a long shot, though!
Not often, but not rarely either, the latest driver update can cause graphics glitches. This is usually resolved with the next update.
Try rolling back to the last driver update to see if the issue persists.
If that doesn't work, try uninstalling ALL graphics drivers, then install fresh drivers instead of an update. Use DDU to completely remove all traces of the graphics drivers.
I did already try to reinstall my GPU drivers. Thing is, the monitor will not even start when the old GPU is plugged in. So I'm pretty sure it's broken.
My old rig, which I gave to my daughter and family, has just done the same thing.
It's an old AMD FX8300, GTX 750ti, which I used mainly for net surfing and older games like Tomb Raider 2013 and then Days Gone. It doesn't even meet minimum specs for Days Gone, but the game played quite well, taking my rigs shortcomings into account. No serious graphics problems anyway.
So they'd had my old rig for about 6 months, working fine, then suddenly they got the 'no signal' on the monitor. After trying several things, trying a different cable, reseating the card, I got them a new graphics card and cable. There's only so much you can do with no display at all. Can't get any updates to Windows or drivers or anything else.
I suspect the GPU broke because my PSU has been having issues. Shortly after putting in the new GPU, I had a crash and power surge warning. So I took it out and replaced it with a new one I bought. I did try a final time to plug my GTX 1060 after putting in the new PSU, but the monitor still did not start.
My old PC also used AMD FX8300 but I just got new PC last month because of the many sales, haven't seen the tech industry so flooded with options and genuine sales since the early 2000s so hope the OP caught one on sale.
