How do you refuel your bike?

I'm playing on the PC using keyboard and mouse, and have remapped most keys b/c I'm a southpaw in terms of mouse usage.

I have a full gas can in my hand and am beside my bike, which is at 11% fuel. There is no contextual prompt that has appeared indicating that I can refuel my bike, and I don't see a key for that in the options. I have pressed both keys for contextual actions but nothing happens.

Can anyone please advise? All the guides I have seen online assume that the player is using a controller and pressing the circle button.

Also, is there any benefit to sleeping other than to advance the day/night cycle?

Last but not least, I thought it was possible to change the difficult from Normal to Hard? I began the game on Normal and want to up it to Hard level. I am in the camp that Deacon and Boozer have (the lookout tower) and in game options I only see Easy and Normal as difficulty options.

By default it should be F. Its a little hard to see...I think you kinda have to aim at the fuel tank and its a light gray color. I too find that sometimes the interaction, even on controller, is a bit hard to see.

Get next to a gas pump or go up to your bike while holding a fuel tank and hold F

thanks, not sure why it didn't work with the gas can but it did work next to a gas pump. maybe the can was empty and I needed to fill it up first?

From what I remember, there is no such thing as an empty gas can in this game. They all have fuel in them. I think Strategist is right when they say to try and aim at the gas tank and there should be a huge "F" with a metered circle around it.

I have a few times run into if i'm not standing at just the right angle at the bike it won't give the "F" prompt to refuel with the can.

If that happens, just walk away a bit and walk back over. I've noticed it happens with the Quicksave option by beds and your bike as well. The prompt just never shows up.

Hahahaha right? Its like every human being was like "NO WAIT! WE GOTTA FILL UP THIS GAS TANK AND LEAVE IT SOMEWHERE....just in case" and EVERY single gas tank you find has unlimited fuel hahahaha. I didnt mind it though, I just found it kinda funny.
