Does this game ever end?
It just draaaaaaaaaaags on and damn, it's just not enough fun

Over 30 hours for this ♥♥♥♥? And the hordes are no fun either and they literally force them on you

As a background thing to be scared of? Sure.

As an enemy you HAVE to kill? Absolutely awful. Who likes this?

the hordes are only forced on specific missions, most are optional, the game does end yes the map is huge, you will have alot more to do in the south
Although this is one of my favorite games of all time; I do remember my first playthrough and at some point when doing the Crater Lake questchain I said, "This is starting to drag on". I feel all of Crater Lake could have been shortened and the game would have been better overall. That said, it's still one of the best games ever :)

Aye, Crater Lake can drag on a bit.

But I eventually got 100% on every story line, every collectable, every trophy, and STILL didn't reach Game Over. Is there something I missed? Or do you never actually reach Game Over?
I didn't play many of the challenges, but they aren't part of the story, are they?

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed this game immensely.
So much so I went to Game + and started all over again, with all my weapons and skills intact and at the next up difficulty level. I'm still enjoying the game. But reaching a definite end point would be nice.

I've just finished it and it took me just over 70 hours. The game was far too long in my opinion, and even in those 70 hours I missed out most of the camps, infestation zones & bounty hunts. If the game had ended at reaching Crater Lake that would've been fine by me.

How did you know you've finished it?
Does something come up which says you've finished it?
Is there a cut scene which ends with "and they all lived happily ever after", come back later to enjoy the further adventures in DG2, or something? How do you trigger it?

I couldn't see anything else that I needed to do in the game. I'd go into Iron Mikes Camp, after wandering aimlessly around, killing zombies, ambushers, marauders etc. Walk up to Boozer and Sarah, the puppy would 'yip' at me, but Boozer and Sarah would just ignore me. Every area was at 100% done, every collectable collected, every trophy done. Every camp job done, so nothing from the camp leaders. I just couldn't find anything to tell me "Game Finished", or whatever.

Yes, there's a cut scene and the credits start to roll, so you certainly know when the game is over. What part of the game are you on?

Yeah, I can see that attracting your attention :steamhappy:

I just kinda gave up and went for New Game + , at the next difficulty up.
I'm tidying up in the Crater Lake/Diamond Lake now (round 2), before trying to get Sarah out with Nero.

D'oh! I'm an old fool.

I FINISHED the game story, ie got Sarah out of Crater Lake and the cut scenes of them all riding back Iron Mikes Camp, credits rolled n everything. But then took the option to COMPLETE it, finishing everything off to 100% :steamfacepalm:
I was expecting something to say, "you've completed it". :steamfacepalm:
Stupid old fool :steammocking:

This is how I felt about Assassins Creed Valhalla. There were no credits, just a cut scene like any other with no closure and the game kept on going. Eventually I looked up a walkthrough to see how much more of the game I had left and it was just side quests.

Once you start getting powerful enough (focus and stamina by NERO injectors), killing hordes start becoming fun, because you can keep yourself alive for much more time while you devise ways to kill them while they breath on your neck!
Once I got luck and found a mild sized horde. They didn´t see me. I had the high ground. I threw four napalms in quick succession, from one side of the horde to the other. I think I killed about half the horde with that move. Then it was run, roll, focus, shoot, run, roll, focus, shoot, throw a pipe bomb, another pipe bomb, etc., and in the end there were few enough of them so that I could take them down with my melee weapon. For me, it´s like kill a Boss in Dark Souls (the sense of accomplishment)
