Gore mod? Tweaking ?

So I installed gore mod and I have finally more blood.
The problem with the mod is that everytime you shoot somebodys head with 9mm pistol their head explodes. I mean it happendd 2/3 times. I have not properly tested yet but is there a way to say to mod, listen pistol, small calibre = no exploading heads.
However I can imagine that St Jones modified ammo or something.
