No Hordes in Highway 97
I have all hordes in the game, except for Highway 97 - there just arent any. I used guides to check everywhere, the caves are empty and even waiting for a full day & night at some of them there never came any freakers... I restarted multiple times too, no change

Try going to Hot Springs area, or anywhere that isn't Highway 97. Do a mission in that area, then come back to Highway 97. This forces the game to redraw your problem area (Highway 97 for you), which also respawns any hordes etc which you hadn't done.

I had the same problem with the same horde and I had no more main or secondary missions to do, just a few hordes and luckily because doing them did unlock the one on highway 97, so now this the end for me and that's less fun...

all i got left is challenge mode, giving myself a break and playing something else for a bit

The challenge mode is nonsense for me : in addition to not being very interesting, the keyboard keys don't work for the challenges in an electric car and impossible to drive the car, and the sensations at the level of the motorcycle for the other missions are totally different from the story part. I also tried a new game + and the aesthetics of the bike have nothing to do with the one I had built.

No game is perfect and DG either but we can regret that the developers have abandoned their game for a long time already and that it will never be improved. Many criticize games like SWTOR saying they are outdated but I have never experienced a game so well tracked, updated, patched and supported by studios with gameplay still evolving even if it is slowing down a bit now. Sony should take this as an example even if the company's policy is totally different from that of EA Games.
