Days Gone
Horrible fps drops in cities and camps
I get average 80-90 fps but when i look at crowded areas(camp, cities etc.) it drops down to 30-40s. i have rx 580 and r5 1600, latest game version and amd drivers. i have couple of friends with rtx 3000 series gpu and intel cpu, they said they have the same problem.

tell yourself that in life there are things much more serious than drops in frames ....

there are some who do not eat 3 meals a day and they do not come on the forums to complain ....
So your advice to someone with technical complaints is that he should be happy that he isn't starving in the desert? You're an idiot.

Day's Gone is optimized for Nvidia cards I think. They had a day one driver update for the game on Geforce Experience.
Oh btw AMD sucks. Years of experience, not opinion.

Oh, hey, I have the same problem on RX 5600 XT and an i7 6700k. Definitely not just you. I have a feeling it's because of my AMD card with their crap drivers that's always giving me problems. Think I'm gonna jump ship pretty soon.
vulkan is the future so i wouldn't jump ships if i was you, i'll just wait for new drivers.
I play at 3440x1440 and its really steady at 120fps 95% of the time but yes in camps it will go down to 110-111fps then pop up sometimes in camp or right out of camp not a huge deal considering you don't spend a ton of time in camp
9700k+3070 and no issues whatsoever. I even play 200%resolution

Years of experience previous to a 1660 Ti (hardly nvidias greatest hour lol) from AMD/ATi's side would have seen you in their best years re HD7970 so yeah your opinion (yes it is still just your opinion) is a load of old cobblers.

1080p with 200% scaling? I have 3060TI in 1440p with 160% scale rendering for 60fps
If it's not caused by audio sample rate, as it is for a lot of people, and your CPU isn't at 100% and also drops in utilization alongside your GPU, you have to look at your RAM bandwidth.

Ryzen 1's memory issues can be pretty significant, are you sure that you are running in dual channel? Worst case scenario is that your RAM is running below rated speeds (as common with ryzen 1) and you're in single channel. This is doubly bad because Ryzen CPU performance is very dependent on RAM speeds, and if you're run up against the limits of your RAM bandwidth in a CPU heavy area, such as a camp in this game, your FPS will tank.

Download CPUZ and head to the memory tab, double check your RAM frequency and that you are in dual channel.

cpu utilization is fine and my ram is on dual channel mode(2x8) running at advertised speed plus 400mhz, i even tried reverting every oc back but it didn't help. its either game optimization or amd drivers causing the problem.

Hello, 1º This game was programmed for amd graphics cards which is the one that mounts ps4, recommended to download the latest driver with support for the game.
2º In ps4 was locked at 30 frames and had exactly the same frame drops that on pc, depending on the area could fall up to 20 frames, slowdowns and frame drops, there are also problems with loading textures and even hordes that do not appear, forcing you to exit the game and reload it.
3º This game is just a port with better testuras and frame rate unlocked, but the graphics engine still has the same problems and bugs that the ps4 game, the only way that the game has no frame drops is to have a pc of 2000 or 3000 $, is the only way to get 60 frames stable, if you look for videos on you tube you will see a test of the game in 4K, the game is never stable, it goes from 90 to 70 frames, to 80 etc.. i.e. the game is never stable and we are talking about 16 core I9 cores and 3080 ti graphics.
4º I have an I5 4690- RX 480x 8g., 8g ram and the game goes high at 60 frames almost always, except when entering camps or certain areas of the game, I have tried even with low graphics and the game still does the same, which means that unless those lazy Bend studio take a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ patch to fix this (something I doubt they do) the game will continue to fail out there, in fact they have not solved after 2 years none of the bugs that still has the game on ps4.
In short, it is useless to turn around if it's your gpu, cpu etc, is a problem of a game that was already poorly optimized base, something that only developers can fix, greetings.

same problem.

6900XT, 350W with MPT (holds almost 2.8 Ghz)
and i still drop into the 60s (from 200 FPS!) when i come into towns and camps.
Problem of the graphic engine, maybe they can not fix it even with a patch, it seems that they would have to rewrite much of the game code and that will not happen.
