How to stop the Data Collection- Idiot Proof version
Some may know this but it's more for a post who are struggling and worrying about the data collection. My stance, for or against, on it for this thread is irrelevant. I know there are guides out there but maybe someone needs more help for whatever reason.

In this method we deal with the action of whatever form of data collection is being recorded no matter how trivial or severe.
What you can do quite easily is make it so any information obtained cannot be uploaded and thus your data has not been collected. It shouldn't be like this I know but such is the digital age. Technically yes the data is still being collected but it wont be going anywhere but on your own system under your control.

Open up "Windows Defender Firewall and Advanced Security" menu - search in the program menu if you don't know where or what it is
Click "Outbound Rules" on the top left
Click "New Rule..." on the top right
Select"Program" and click next
Select "The program path"
Click "Browze..."
Find folder: Steam\steamapps\common\Days Gone\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\CRS
and select "crs-uploader.exe"
Click open
Click next
Select "Block the connection"
Click next
All boxes to be ticked
Next
Name it anything

Repeat Entire Process but instead go to folder
Steam\steamapps\common\Days Gone\BendGame\Binaries\Win64
and select "DaysGone.exe instead and name it something different.

Precisely.

Steam probably got more data on us all than the game would collect anyway, all this game data collection paranoia cracks me up.

Little too invasive data collection?
RodroG May 21, 2021 @ 11:48am
These unoriginal, exaggerated, and conspiratorial posts about the game's telemetry data collection should start to be considered as mere trolling.

Yep and getting boring now for us serious players, but the mods are in control.

Most sane people have deducted it as such.

Ok. What is latest official info about this? I added this wishlist but after too "invasive" collection news i removed it?

my OP ?
I expressly said that my stance on it is irrelevant.
Thus have given no opinion or comment on it.
This is simply a helping hand for anyone that should think to deem it necessary instead of spamming forums complaining thereby decreasing posts to do with data collection.

I did buy and Im liking it a lot with 29 hours in on Hard II :)
everything collects data
**This post is to show the people who DO have a problem with the data collection to make it stop whether it be bad or good.**
Therefore, no more (or less) posts complaining about it
It's a win win

Keep talking about "Trolling" until they actively monitor your actions outside of the game regardless of it running or not.

There's nothing "trolling" about being concerned for your private data and clearly the data they're collecting here is not the norm.
