Can't buy anything in camps

I tried Copeland and the Hot Springs, I can move around the menus, i can press A to enter the submenus, but i can't buy or equip anything.
Can't upgrade the motorcycle
Can't refuel
Can't buy ammo
Can't equip guns in the locker

all my face buttons work, i'm using a series X controller, so i'm pretty sure it isn't the controller.
Validated the download twice and it didn't need to redownload anything.
Tried using the keyboard, still doesn't work. Tried REBINDING thinking it was a glitch, and i still can't buy anything.
I have second level of loyalty with copeland and like 2,100 credits

I try googling it and it's all results about the ps4 not fully downloading the game and people trying to buy stuff at the wrong camp.

Alright, i don't like that. Just discovered i can buy stuff just fine if my controller isn't plugged in at all. And here i was thinking this is an alright port

Disable Steam's controller input. Solved this issue for me.

I just connected my controller through Bluetooth instead of wired in and it all works now..I have been playing for 4 hours and finally got it to work

I had to use the mouse and hold click to buy from merchants while using a controller.

Thanks, will try right now, because having the same problem. Hard to believe controllers are still so iffy on PC in 2021. Then again, it's 2021.

Didn't work. Default settings, Steam settings, disabled input...nothing works. Can't buy anything, just browse. That's kind of a game breaking bug if you can't buy anything from merchants. Sad thing is that it worked fine yesterday @@

This works for me when I encounter this bug. Sometimes I can use my controller on the hold prompts, sometimes I can't. Imagine releasing a game in 2021 that can't interact with controllers properly.

Plugging my controller in when the game is already started fixed it for me. Using a PS4 controller with the official Steam config and left everything as default.

Edit: another thing that fixed it for me, as Legendary mentioned before, is disabling Steam input. You can easily disable it for just this specific game. RIghtclick the game in your library, go to Properties and then to the Controller section. There you select "Disable Steam input". This way you don't have to unplug your controller before starting the game each time.

Thanks, this worked! It's like Telltale Games from 2012-2014, where they didn't work if you had the controller on before launching them. Pretty lame but at least we have a fix. Thanks again.
