Weapon mechanic is annoying
Sliencer randomly disappeared from my sidearm. Found out when I shot it and am like "why is it so loud?"

WTF?

Is this a bug or a "feature"?

I believe that the default is to not have a suppressor equipped, so it's possible that after reloading or finishing a mission or something your game reset to that default.

the one MOD I use and enjoy increases durability of silencers 10x

Real silencers are only good for a few shots, so some makeshift air filter silencer is going to do what?

Cool, thanks, so this is a "feature".

Garbage feature, but k.

Why garbage? Because it only serves to artificially slow the game down for no reason without adding actual challenge. Now I have to haul my bike back up to town for no reason.

I mean, it is an oil filter. It's not unreasonable that it would break/malfunction. But ultimately it'd be pretty broken, mechanics wise, if you could just put the suppressor they give you in the intro on your gun for the whole game and never have to worry about it.

Except that the game isn't forcing you to go back to town "for no reason". The game isn't artificially slowing itself down, you're artificially slowing it down by insisting on using a suppressor all the time.

You don't need a suppressor on your weapon, but if you want one, then yeah, you're going to have to make treks back constantly. Or you could use the crossbow.

There is also a weapon that has an unlimited durability built in suppressor but requires you to take out every horde in the game to unlock
Are you talking about the Rock Chucker? I think you only need to take out all the infestations, not hordes.

If you install fling trainer you can turn off weapon durability and you won't have to worry about your silencers and guns breaking

what i find more annoying is the fact that hits have a 50/50 chance of hitting the head were you aimed at or being a chest hit for no reason, happens very often with the crossbow and rifles, also that you have to aim for 3-4 seconds to get a single accurate shot and once you move, your crosshair goes crazy

Makes sense. Everything you say makes sense.

Still annoying feature, though

To who ever said you have to do the muarder camp mission story line to get the rock chunk (silenced rifle) not hordes, hordes give you the SMP9 ,AUTO shotgun,MG55 and IDF PUP. If you didnt do all the sidequests in the first region before moving to the second you will have to wait till after the whole map is opened up as some quests come from the first 3 camps while the rest come from the other 2 in the south regions, muarder camps come as side quests and cant be found in the world till the quest is taken also.
