1. Right click on Days Gone in your Steam library and turn off cloud saves under properties.
2. Enter %localappdata%\BendGame\Saved\ in Windows Explorer. Then delete the saves in the subfolder that you don't want.
What worked for me was deleting the save files while the game is running with SteamCloud enabled. Then exit the game, and Steam Cloud will update the cloud archive with your latest local save files and will never redownload your manually deleted saves again.
That said, many PC games allow deleting save-game files easily while in-game. It's not an uncommon feature. So, an eventual addition of this feature would be nice and welcome.
I only have half a dozen, or so, Save File slots. It now automatically overwrites my oldest Save File, after asking, if I manually initiate a save. As you know, there are 2 game save types. A manual Save File, which you initiate by choosing Save Game on exiting the game. You start the game from this save by choosing 'Load Game' from the start menu. A 'Quicksave' that you initiate in-game by pressing a button. If you die in game, you respawn at this point. If you quicksave and exit the game, restarting and choosing 'Continue' restarts the game at that point. As far as I know, quicksaves are immediately overwritten by your next quicksave. Mind you, I haven't been delving into %localappdata% to find out. No need.
This isn't a PC game though. It's a Play Station game from 2019, ported to PC.
You say RodroG, "It's not an uncommon feature", which tends to imply it isn't exactly a common feature either.
But I am happy that they at least allow multiple slots, manual saves, and quicksaves! That IS becoming less common these days.
Ah, I'm not an experienced gamer. I have the Tomb Raider 2013 Reboot, and the other 2 in that series. A few other games, but none are recent. Days Gone is by far the newest game I have. None of the games I have let you delete game save files easily, as far as I know. To be fair, I don't think I've even tried to delete any. They all have a 'quicksave' feature and they all have only a handful of manual Save Game slots. I don't know why you'd want to delete them anyway. You can overwrite any particular save slot.
