but the ripper cult was included because it's illegal now to have a game without a crazy cult, doesn't matter how badly written, even the freaking peggies from far cry 5 make more sense than the rippers
we're in a world where huge hordes of cannibalistic beasts roam the land, capable of wiping out entire militaries and very fast moving, plus antibiotics are as precious as gold and just getting one box of them is a difficult almost impossible mission
yet we have a group of a couple thousand individuals who, as a hobby, cut themselves constantly and light themselves on fire, plus they're obligated by their cult to not defend themselves against the freakers, instead they literally call them with air horns and let themselves be eaten
can anyone explain to me how the ♥♥♥♥ did the rippers survive more than 2 weeks? or at least, why go to war with them?? just lure a horde to iron butte and you're done lol, the writers of this game made a great job with the main characters but the plot itself is complete bottom wiping material lolol
and I love this game insanely, no hate
I also agree the rippers make no sense at all, but for some reason that doesn't bother me as much as the over abundance of "ambush camps" Who are they ambushing, there is barely anyone about? Also why is Iron Mike cool with you wiping them out, but doesn't want you to kill the rippers?
I also must say i am thoroughly enjoying the game.
the big problem that a lot of people recognized was the virus transmission: how does it work and how come no one becomes a freaker anymore? the best answer I can think of, piecing together all the info from the NERO researchers, is that only the original version of the virus, residing in humans, was capable of being transmitted. once the host is fully developed into a freaker of whatever nature, they become incapable of passing it to others, basically if you were lucky enough to not get infected in the first few weeks you were safe from then on, but there might be holes in this explanation that I haven't considered
the ambushers supposedly attack supply runs (which we never see) and pluck lone survivors
from the road but honestly, it's more likely they were put there to pan out the game and gate the crafting in some way. this game sometimes tries to feel like a ubisoft game and that is just puzzling to me, the devs must have had a lack of confidence at some point and went from a pure action-horror to outright action because they thought it would get boring or too stressful, but that's only my theory
Biggest plot hole in general , NERO is wearing hazmat suits to prevent possible contamination from virus ( Deacon's first face to face with O'brian confirms this ). We are left to assume survivors are a immune that have been exposed to virus and what is left unsaid is it is air borne type . NERO should be rounding up survivors to find why they aren't infected on top of studying freakers . Funny thing it would take to much explanation to tie in a bunch of the plot holes . I guess this is the role playing part of game use imagination to fill gaps .
