How is first game save handled for the bonus?

Would it be possible to download a save without owning the first game to still get the bonus outfit in the sequel? I own the original on switch but for some reason the game is 40% cheaper on steam than on switch, but I wouldn't have a save, so I'm curious how it handles that. Does it just look for a save or specifically if you own the game on steam?

If I have to guess, it will work just by having the save files on your PC. The game will read it without checking that you own Ryza 1 on Steam or not. It should be the same on console as well. There's no way to check that people actually own the first game (physically) at one point before selling or losing the disc.

Because if KT make it that the game has to read the actual data from the first game disc, Capcom's lawyer is gonna serve them some more papers cuz they think they own that.

its just looking for a save file, nothing more, they do not code the game save bonus different from Console to Steam, because it would be rather stupid to use time to change that just because steam is digital and Xbox/PS is both physical and digital.

Wait, was that why I had boots to run a little faster, some accessory, a weapon and armor with some effect on for Ryza? I was wondering where the heck that came from.

If that's what you get, it's not really relevant. Although running a little faster is always nice I guess.

Did you buy the deluxe version? Those sound like the kind of boosters Gust usually has in deluxe.

If so then you get literally nothing for an old save. Because I do own the first game on Steam, and the savedata is where the game originally created it. Heck I even have all achievements.

But yeah, I have the ultimate edition or whatever it's called. The one with everything.
