Would be interesting if our group ever decides to more BackStreets Campaigns.
Some of the systems we had, was we used like an stress/emotion system, so there was those rare times you rolled a d100, if you got lucky you got E.G.O, less lucky you got layers of distortion, really unlucky, and you just died.
Oh the RNG system was essentially designed as you only reached high stress if you were taking extreme damages, it was less you had a small chance to die when trying to get E.G.O and more of, getting E.G.O as the result of nearly being killed. there was essentially a chance to get E.G.O or distortion instead of outright dying.
My group will probably need to tweak some stuff since we have a certain playstyle but the City is such an interesting setting to explore. Maybe the players will establish a small office that slowly climb up the ranks, or they have to explore the ruins at some point
You're doing gods work my dude~
A functional build of Star of the City (dubbed the "Third Edition") is finally ready to be released to the public for open playtesting and refinement. I do apologize for not updating more frequently: I've actually recently graduated college, and was not confident in what I was working on at the time of my original post. After several years of running different versions of the game, playing other TTRPG formats, and refining the project I can say that what I have is at least passably good enough to let others have a look at.
Anyway, I'm putting together a community discord server that will act as a platform for groups to meet up and play. Should anyone be interested, please reply via this discussions thread. The server should be good to go by next week or so: expect an invite link then.
