Realizations are necessary for the true ending to the game.
What you have when you start the uninvited guests is what you'll have the entire time, and you need at least enough pages to give 4 floors loadouts (20 key pages and the combat pages needed for them). Once a floor finishes its reception, the pages used on that floor are locked until the next layer.
Are there any keypages that should go on certain floors without a doubt?
You'll figure it out as you go. The guests abilities, while powerful, aren't very subtle. Just know that the enemies are designed in such a way to be the penultimate challenge for each floor, building off skill you learned in the abnormality fights, and honed during the realization.
Also, the fight originally didn't let you re-use key pages at all once clearing a floor, and it's a bit more fun if you try to stick to that challenge.
