Was W corp's singularity inspired by The Jaunt?
This question contains spoilers for The Jaunt by Stephen King. I highly recommend that you read it first, takes about an hour.

I read The Jaunt by Stephen King and came to think that the resemblance between "jaunting" and the W corp trains are incredibly similar. Especially the parts about the instant transportation and during transportation.

Is there any mention of this from official Project Moon sources?

To those who have read the story and played through this game, what do you think?

To those who haven't read the story, I will explain what "jaunting" is. Jaunting, in the Stephen King story, is essentially instantaneous transportation done through two portals. You are at first at one portal, someone sets the location for an exit point, you step through the other portal. The process is instant.

The thing is though, if you aren't asleep during the transportation you will be conscious for an incomprehensibly long time, whereas in the real world it's practically instant.

It's this part that made me curious about this. These two instances in two different stories are quite alike each other. I'd like to ask you what you think about this?

To those who haven't played the game, what are you doing here?

To those who have done neither, whuh? :CoppuhPeasant:

The truth behind R Corp's singularity and the living hell its members have to endure.
If you think being on a train for 2000 years is terrifying, at least you don't have any particular goal and you'll also forget about it.

What does that have to do with the topic of the discussion? I don't think I follow.
