Love Town is just too much...

New player here. I'd heard of Love Town and how we don't talk about it, but I didn't expect it to be that bad. Had to forfeit the reception because I couldn't stand looking at those things on my screen :(

I'd really appreciate if anyone can provide a mod that gets rid of the combat sprites, or lets me skip the reception altogether. I'd much prefer the former, since this does look like a top-tier fight and I'd hate to have to skip it.

Props to Project Moon for making such an utterly sickening reception, though.

UPDATE: It's been three weeks since I made this post. I first-tried the reception. The fight itself wasn't actually that bad at all, which is fortunate because I had a mod on and now I have to do it again for the achievement lmao

Yeah...welcome to the project mooniverse, its definitely a game that earns its Mature rating, and others that they made dont hold back either.

My best advice, get a cheat mod to insta kill em, it may not be satisfying, especially since Love Town is the first ever real boss fight, but its better then dropping the game

Fun fact, I was struggling so much all the time to read the tiny font of the non-zoomable combat cards, that I am totally incapable to tell what 90% of the enemies look like... I had to check the wiki to find out what they were after your message.

Everyone has his own sensibility but I need far more than this couple of pixels to get troubled

I was (un)fortunate enough to have discovered the designs of the Love Townies early, giving me enough time to desensitize myself. Still, I was not expecting the shift in background and BGM . . . nothing else in the game freaked me out as much as dueling with eldritch-looking flesh amalgams while hearing "L-O-V-E / L-O-V-E /L-O-V-E" being sung in the background, but that's what makes it such a massive highlight.

I had to take about 4 or 5 MONTHS off of playing Library of Ruina because of Love Town and how brutally horrifying it was.

It's THE most horrifying scene in the game, because it Just. Keeps. Getting. Worse.

A friend of mine told me to slap him/beat him if he started playing the game again after Love Town.

For as bad as the Abnormalities are, none of them hit the same as Love Town, because Love Town has an extended story segment that makes you like the characters, then sees those characters being horrifically torn apart... and then it gets worse.
