Library of Ruina overheats my gaming laptop
Hello! I have recently purchased a pristine new laptop suitable for gaming, but experience high temperature increase the moment I open Library of Ruina

The laptop is an ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17
2 TB Storage
GPU: Navidia GeForce RTX 4080
CPU: Ryzen 9 7945HX (16 cores, 32 threads)

Normally I get 60-70 degrees but the moment I play Library of Ruina, or even open it for a minute or 2, my laptop heats up to 90+ degrees, and I am thinking it’s the game. Any help?

Laptops will overheat from most games. Library of Ruina is no exception. There is a reason there are memes about it, like this one: youtube.com/watch?v=4-m-2CR9YUI

I'm sorry, but your laptop is gonna overheat when you play this game. There are some QoL mods, but none of them are going to make the game super optimized/less stressful to run on your laptop such that it won't overheat.
Though, I'll be happy if I do learn about any workarounds, so do share if you know and prove me wrong. It'll be nice.

Since you have an Nvidia card you could try and limit the framerate for the game.
Open the Nvidia Control panel (just search from the start menu)
Go to Manage 3D settings
Pick Program Settings
If Library of Ruina is not in the dropdown list click add and navigate to where the app is installed. This is usually "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\library of ruina\libraryofruina.exe"
Once the app is selecte "Max Framerate" and set a limit.
This game doesn't really benefit from an uncapped framerate and that just puts load on the card.

I hope this helps
