[Spoilers] A couple questions regarding the endgame story

So this update we got some juicy new lore and there's a couple little things that had me a tad confused. I don't know if I missed something or if I'm just slow but maybe someone has some input.

First off, when Angela spreads the light over the city, it is for the full 7 days or is it cut off when Roland takes Angela out of the light? Don't know what kind of effects that would have other than making guests wake up at unpredictable times.

Second, something that doesn't add up to me is when Angela meets Carmen in the light and says she is going to try and stop Carmen. Hasn't Carmen't goal always been to create a society where people don't have to cause suffering to others- why would Angela try to stop that? I mean Carmen's goal is pretty much to spread the light, which Angela is doing as they speak.
I feel like I totally glossed over something, or maybe I just read it wrong. If any loremasters have any input please share.

Carmen essentialy wants people to embrace their emotions but this causes them to distort, she doesn't care about that though. This might be cause of the guilt she felt that caused her to kill herself. Angela seeing how distortions ruin people and the city decides she won't be a part of her scheme so she undos everything.
The light is pretty much spread 95 percent instead of 50 percent this'll cause more distortions and EGOs on a wider scale at least that's what I'm guessing. It also up with the Purple Tear's EGOISTs association(pretty much a set up for the next game)
All of this was my interpretation so it may not be 100% accurate.

But the thing is, Carmen (at least in the first game) would care if people were distorting if it meant people were getting hurt in the process. The whole reason she killed herself in the first place was that she, unlike A, wasn't willing the pay the cost in blood to see her vision through. Even the sephirah still seem to support her and her vision; why would she start acting out of character after being absorbed into the light?

Keep in mind most distortions seem to love themselves like Argalia who was gonna kill himself after Angelica's death but didn't. Carmen pretty much makes their emotions go haywire until they get taken over by them, how much they can control themselves really depends on the character. For her character change we don't know, maybe in the next game cause in this game she wants the guests booked meaning she wants them to die. Maybe she's distorted too cause unlike Ayin or Angela she didn't go through realizations or meltdowns to reach the Knowing I.

I suppose spending 10,000 years being used to extract abnormalities is sure to take its toll on anyone. It's just tragic to imagine the one who inspired so many to create a future free from unnecessary suffering would end up causing so much. Maybe in another game we'll meet the Carmen that once was, or maybe her dream will have to carry on without her in those she inspired.

Carmen's goal seems to have changed a bit, as she now states she wants to stop people from "denying their emotions". She's responsible for turning people into Distortions, and will probably end up as an overarching Villain alongside The Head for the franchise as a whole.

Gotta say, evil Carmen wasn't on my bingo card.

My view is that Carmen's current view is that people shouldn't avoid themselves and will force her listeners to face their repressed emotional baggage. Distortion or realizing E.G.O is beside the point. This interpretation stems from the way C cracks open Angela's repressed everything as well as her own, then being satisfied by Angela's will to move on.
