Challenge for mad people

So, there are currently two ways to set up to solo the Crying Children fight.
One is the Retaliate passive, which grants a slash counter die each turn, even when immobilised.

The other is Changing Stances (which may or may not be tied to The Purple Tear). If you get a 1 in 4 chance at the start of the fight, you'll be in Guard Stance, which is immune to the Immobilise.

Here's my possibly impossible challenge: Solo "Crying Children" with neither. My best bet for a starting point is either with Deflect Assault from Yujin, or Plumed Escutcheon from Ego Philip.

the F? it actually is possible lol. i just tried your challenge and actually reach the 3rd phase without even using counter dice or guard stance.

for those who want to try this challenge, my build for your referrence is this:

Malkuth Floor

Grade 1 Fixer with Passive: Deflect assault (Necessary for EL level up so you could use abno page), Grit, Plumet Escutcheon. Boss Order (give 1 prot every scene)

Abno Page: Display of Affection, Ashes, Predation (no other good abno page show up at this part), Spores, and Barrier of Thorns (OP since you still healed up by the full amount of damage even if the one that hit you is decreased by prot)

E.G.O Page: Wingbeat (Obv for healing purpose), The Forgotten (to destroy CC's strong card if you're in a pinch), and any other one of your choice

You know, I had forgotten about the Grade 1 Fixer. That internal protection/stagger protection would really help out once things get going.

I did feel like Malkuth's floor was the right choice, but I was testing with Xiao for the superior burns.

It definitely would boil down to getting lucky at the start that they don't roll too high, since if they stagger you before you can get to the good abno pages, you're done for. So it's definitely easier to solo-build with Gebura.

But it's still cool to see that it's possible.

if it would help you, i actually almost failed that run since i got staggered around the first phase and almost died with 10 health remaining when gettiing hitted while staggered. since their roll is somewhere around 2-6, even if you get staggered the damage is still getting decreased by 3 (1 from grit, 1 from prot, 1 from Toughness) at EL 1, so yeah....

Giving it my own shots. I think it's better to get "Your Shield" rather than "Plumed Echelon", because the most devastating thing that can happen, is that they get deflects off. Your Shield means that you have to roll minimum, and they have to roll maximum, to get that stagger off. But even then, it boils down to "How many times do they roll the maximum number?"

Funnily, I'd say this card is almost perfect for the fight. It has slash stagger endure, which is what they hit harder with at the start, helping buy out that time to reach EL 5.

And got it.

It really does depend on how lucky you are before reaching EL5, because they can really rack up damage before getting that 3 protect/2 stagprotect, just by consistently rolling 7s.
And because they're also earning ELs, they can get their own pages to grant power and make life painful.

Gebura Floor Just abused stealth with Deflect assault and get Mei passive for stagger resist and u evently get it stealth will save u if your stagger resist ran out oh and also get all your health eventually with ego pages

yeah, just test it again and found out it's better to use Cecil's or Mei's Passive rather than Phillip. could easily help you survive until EL 5

I was actually thinking that. All for Hana would really help prolonging the time it takes to die/stagger.

Okay, so in theory, any floor could do this. Plumed Etchelon means even floors without counter/superblock pages would eventually kill off the enemy via burns.

But it would take a very long time. Tiphereth and Malkuth would be the easiest picks, as Malkuth focuses in spike damage, and Tiphereth has her Nihil build. Everywhere else... it's a bragging rights of how patient you are.

Would also be a test of RNG akin to winning the lottery: you'd have to trade out a defensive passive for this, and that would mean that they can get those 1 damage/stagger hits in when they roll high enough. Or get their side abnormality pages.

Actually, not so hard, i even not use toughness and haulers. 2x2 xiao and 1v1 purple tear much more challenging.

Well, Hokma is certainly capable of doing it.
You need to take both of the level 1 breakdowns from Burrowing Heaven to do it, and then Martyr. He's eventually going to stagger the Unspeaking Child, and then get to go on the offensive. Penitence is great recovery, Dead Silence can break through the debuff or his ranged attacks, and Burrowing Heaven can knock off a speed die.

Only real problem I've been having is the deck itself, haven't been able to keep light in check with needing strong pages to counter his.

I'd think that Hod in theory would be able to do this, but I can't seem to make it work. If she could pull Social Distancing, it'd be fine, but "Surprise Gift" has priority. You also CANNOT use any EGO pages, as they remove the mask, making it impossible to tell what expression she has.
