Love Town... (Spoiler Warning)
Well, i recently made it through the point of... Tomerry.

Before the battle, i felt things i never felt in other games or media- least not for a long time.

I got scared, i was disturbed- even a little angry for what caused it all. the entire time, i couldn't look away no matter how much i tried or wanted to. I was that invested in what was happening. And when the couple turned into a monster with the mind of a child... Yeah, i knew what had to be done.

Great job developers. I was already into this game, but this got me feeling determined to at least try and put Tomerry to some mode of rest. Came a little close the first time due to not paying attention to being able to use 4 librarians when i used Rolands team of 3 and not focusing like i should have, but i won with Malkuth afterwards.

Anyone else felt strong emotions in a good way from that moment? What went through yoru mind before and during the battle?

Oh, practically everyone who plays this game has Love Town PTSD, including me, lol. It's a really well written fight, and effectively acts as the marker point for where the game starts to amp up the difficulty on a regular basis. Congrats on beating it \o/.

We have one rule in the LoR community: we don't talk about Love Town.

Well, i just unlocked plague nightmare now... Had a tough fight with a certain coward after he previously ran, then came back with ego. Didn't lose anyone, but the stacking burns worried me for a moment before i took him out in three scenes total.

I suppose back then it certainly was a... moment. But y'know, it used to be 10 times worse/scarier!

Back then, there was no special pop song for it. What did you hear? The same grim ambient music as in the train cutscenes when stuff started to go south. Now if that wasn't a bone-chilling combo with the field suddenly turning into the bloody train itself with piles of flesh everywhere, i don't know what would be.

(Bonus points for most people encountering this as the first proper field-changing boss, that element sure took a lot of people by suprise.)
Suppose it's still the freakiest fight in the game so far, that's saying a lot.

ahhh love town, the gate where LoR story entering the SCP Phase instead of just humanoid enemy. it was a good surprise, really. also, for many, it usually is the first fight where you are reminded that this is a deathly fight where you must use your resource to the fullest.

Eh, I think the Mili song helps it along to some extent. Whereas before it may have felt scarier, now it feels more...unsettling, which suits the feeling you get from the fight rather well. But hey, subjective opinions.

First battle ever to force me and certainly many others to actually “learn” the game, and the last reception to lose at first attempt. Remember farming Gaze again and again just to revisit this encounter, 10/10 battle.

The Mili song is meant to make the fight feel more unsettling since it's a seemingly jolly song for such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up scenario. Contrapunal music is used all the time in horror films to make the audience feel uncomfortable or unsettled.
