Binah floor realization is too much to handle with its gimmicks
So update from last post I made, I gotten past xiao and practically finished all of the SotC reception, so once I got all the best key pages and combat pages I decided to do the rest of the remaining floors and all was fine until binahs floor.

Her floor realization is way to unfun or even unfair due to the amount of gimmicks this whole floor has with its abnormalitys, especially when it comes down to ApocBirds.

ApocBirds fight is WAY to gimmicky and not only that, but badly gimmicky, it physically hurts me how gimmicky it is, like it does way too many different things each scene. Like I understand big bird would cause everyone to be unaffected by power, but judgement bird as well? And even worse, the cards that it plays where clashing against it means no power gain or loss is a bit strong. But that is not even the worst of it.

Almost every scene or every scene after it plays mass attack pages or even two, or if the AI feels like it want you to suffer it will play two mass attacks pages that if they hit, starves your lights, but even then went I am able to go through both mass attack pages, my librarians still lose light or have some of their light taken away and no I don't ever pick the abno card that gives light and takes light from other librarians. And then at some point all my librarians are just completely starve of light and good pages to use and I can't even use any of my 0 or 1 cost pages properly to regain light because of its strong counter dices that either do too much damage to them or stagger my librarians. And finally, when it comes to its 18-18 mass attack, I can't do anything. small bird has some breathing room for its 2 scenes, but even then it still uses one or two mass attack pages.

It already frustrating enough to get through the first 3 birds and their own gimmicks.

If there is one big issue I see in this game, is the difficultly curve. there are just way too many spots in this game where the difficulty just spikes up by like times 10 for no reason. I still got through them, but with many tries. And im already at my wits end going at ApocBird for the 22nd time all ending in the same tragic way, some very close but then I get crushed, mentally crushed. I wanna finish this game and get the endings, but, its starting to become mentally exhausting and too the point where even when I am able to finish a very hard fight, it doesn't feel highly rewarding and all I get to feel is just relieved, almost little satisfaction.

I love this game and the story behind it, but this is just too much and I might just stop here.

Oh yeah that's a big POS to deal with. Definitely the second toughest realization out there. Though the only gimmick to worry about is the Light starvation. Though, best pointers I could think of is...

-Consider completing the Star of the City branch entirely before re-attempting this. You'll need the power from those key pages for the best odds.

-Setup the best team possible. For me this was: Binah (with The Strongest + Myo's Prowess), and x4 librarians with strong setups focusing on +1 or +2 Power, and R-suit to hold 20 Charge.
(Bringing Nikolai is highly recommended for the Mark she inflicts and the +1 power she gives everyone.)

-My deck 's light regeneration & draw power tactic was this: x1 Multi-Slash, x1 Energy Cycle, x1 Graze the Grass, x1 Energy Conversion, and x1 Will of the Prescript. This, with some damage thrown into it is a fantastic light-regenerator and card-draw when you reach the final phase.
(Since one of it's phases nullifies power-gain, consider putting in Yan's card that powers itself down but has big base rolls.)

-I think you can rush down some phases like Judgement Bird and maybe Punishing Bird (once it's vulnerable), get them staggered fast and kill em off fast.

-If you bring a Smoke-inflicting card or two, that can further greatly enhance damage done in the final phase. (Just think about it, Smoke can go up to 10 to become +50% damage, which then becomes +100% damage with Nikolai's mark.)

-There's lately also been new Star of the City General Receptions, those might be worth a look too now or later when you need the resources to deal with a certain event. Mix & Match some 1 to 3 SotC books and see what you get.

I will definitely note all theses down, especially the new SotC General Reception, they might have something that I need, but for now I need a break from this.

Ranged pages also go a long way to helping you rush down the first three phases. Really, the hardest part of the realization is just enduring Apoc Bird for long enough to take it down.

the only part so far i dislike about it is that judgement bird is 3 parts in and 1 bad rng roll can lose you 2 people with no way to counter, forcing you to restart the whole thing again.

PT's Defense stance with Charge build could give you a big advantage here (use the one that give 10 charge and immobilization while regain light with combat page that could recover 3 light on the cost of 4 charge). have 1 librarian that could help ramp up the damage (smoke, mark status, pure damage increase, etc). always deal counter using range attack (you have binah if you don't use any other ranged page). if you could do it, get someone that can deal paralyze (should give you big help in dealing some of the individual type MA). there're more tips but i forgot about it.

good luck.

Don't you need to do this anyway to even attempt the realization since you need to reach Impurity?

As for the OP, this realization was the hardest fight in the enitre game for me (took me 7+ tries the first time) until I learned to beat it first try in my second playthrough. I brought decks that doesn't care about light at all (ex.
Rapid Gashes Yujin and Overcharge Purple Tear).

Nikolai's mark IMO is a must have for this fight since the damage amplification helps you to deal with Apocalypse Bird's insane amount of health. The bonus strength and endurance are nice but not really needed.

Binah can deal with the counter dice from Apocalypse Bird. Also try to complete the first Impurity battle to get the passives and equip Four Trigrams on Binah to help her regenerate Light since her own Light regen is kinda weak. I also brought Yan as a support, mainly for Binah but he can support other people as well. The Distortion Blade is also a nice thing to have for this realization as you can deal with the other birds quite easily as well.

Hope this helps.

Took me half the night, but I did it! Thank you all so much for the help! I really should start thinking smarter with my builds and look up more guides lmao the two builds with the rapid gashes and overcharged really helped.

well, here I come WhiteNight...

Thanks for starting this thread. I also got mercilessly beat by Bird Exodia 6 times in a row... Overcharge Purple Tear and Yujin Gashes really are something.

You need light! Irina can help you a lot. Here's a build I used:
1x Sword of Volition
1x Multi-Party Compensation (her unique card)
3x Clone
3x Brace Up
1x Switcheroo
Basically you clone her Multi-Party Compensation and then eventually she's just bathing your team in light every turn. This solves one of the biggest issues with the fight.

Also make sure you bring cards that are great for countering mass attacks. Sturdy Defense is awesome for this.

Good luck! It takes a few tries.
