Difficulty Spikes
Everything up until Star of the City was pretty much a smooth ride with a couple especially annoying fights (like Love Town and Crying Children) up the difficulty curve and it was pretty much possible to stay roughly on level with your opponents. First row of Star of the City wasn't too terrible (cleared the whole row before doing any floor realizations, only just barely, granted.) but now that we're in the second row each fight is much harder than the last. Index Proxies were already a pain in the ass, and then you have Kali, who is amusingly weak to soloing but otherwise capable of mulching 3 floors, Liu section one who are damn near impossible to win clashed against (especially when they can benefit from singular strike while attacking with 2 dice) and now R-Corp, a 3 wave endurance battle you only get 2 floors for where the normal enemies are nearly as durable as some earlier major bosses (Tomery comes to mind) and hit much harder.

These constant difficulty spikes are really just killing the game for me and I was curious how others feel about them.

well, if you can't win against some battle is something wrong with you deck building skills. gebura literally can solo 3 receptions if you use 1 sacrifice per floor and let her solo everything. you can make a immortal walter with +3 in every evade dice, its possible to make a emma full stop and kill 2 enemys in first turn. the game now much easy than before. But i can see why do you think its hard.
i personaly dont like how the battles are actually. nothing in the game makes worft you want to clash. its just necessary to redirect some hits focus in 1 enemy per scene, stack abnomalitys, E.G.O and GG, bruh. the only challengers the game give is the abnomalitys battles in general.

Exuse me for not wanting to break the game just to play it normally. I feel like soling entire receptions isn't exactly an intended means of dealing with things so I typically stay away from it.

even if you dont want to break the game ins't hard my friend.
i know i did appear some arrogand by sayn a thing like "something wrong with you deck building skills", but i haven't sayn that to make fun of you. its just a thing you need to consider. if you failed at a reception, look what dont have worked well in the decks you are using and replace them to make something better.
if you thing you deck is good but its failed 2/3 times its enought to you see something needs to change. sorry if i did appear to be ridicularizing you.

Until director himself starts solo-ing everything on his way immediately after Red Mist/R corp get released (and I am not joking, the director of Project Moon streams on Twitch and he did do R corp that way when it was released and actually even more fights)

I think more in term of deck building and floor

generally if the game want you to do something different it will hint at it to you

like I can beat all the floor pretty easily with hod floor and a defensive build. I'll always have 5 employee alive and at full or near full health from beginning end of the fight

like wise most my floor don't have any issues with fighting any reception

pretty sure you are suppose to try to use one floor and the extra floor are more like a extra chance, since the emotion system is pretty big and once you get high enough and abnormality card. You should have no issue crushing most floor before they try to get upper hand on you

a lot of people actually want higher difficulty so I don't think the game is all that challenging. It's more about deck building and strategy

quite possible I took it too hard so no hard feelings. I've mostly been playing around with singleton to survive longer fights and occasionally dipping back into bluntspam to resolve shorter fights quickly with my decks.

i don't know if this can give you a enlightenment or something like that, but this is all decks i have been using (the images are out of order):

For the sake of clarity: Are any of these decks used for the assistant libarians on the floor of language, or, are they nothing but sacrifices in your build?
Ratohou Dec 12, 2020 @ 8:09am
none of them are supposed to be used for sacrifices, normally i use them in yesod, malk and Netzach. but its possible to be used in gebura floor if you want.

Then which decks are meant for use alongside Gebura? and isn't running Kizuna/Extreme Fatigue on red mist a little risky?
Ratohou Dec 12, 2020 @ 8:21am
nop, 25% less life ins't a big thing, and with 2 sacrifices you gain 2 extra power so its compense. and none of these decks are maked to be specificaly for gebura, their are maked based in MID-RANGE / DEFENSE / DPS. and can be distribuited the form you think its work beter.

Okay, I'll probly do some testing with health hauler instead of Kizuna for safefty purposes and also for the sake of testing exactly how absorbtion works, at least for longer receptions, since in say, R-Corp you'd only have up to 1 sacrfice per act.
