Thoughts about the latest abno fight (aka smiling bodies)
In short, there are 2 things (basically 1) I discovered while doing the Smiling bodies fight:

1-The small body piles respawn after 2 scenes

2-The boss respawns if you did not kill all 4*25 hp piles in 2 scenes

They are not shown on their abilities when you click on them.

Maybe it was not intended, but this might be a cool feature for really strong - Tier 3 - ALEPH abnomalities.

This also happens when you do the Netzach final realization as we fight it in the beginning the first time and the end the second time (Da Capo).

Past abno battles they show you what their ability is and you could counter them strategically, but it does not work anymore against T3 abnos and I think it fits for them being T3.

Just my hypothesis, but if it comes out like that I would be really exiting dealing against these mechanics.

Tell me what you thought.

...Honestly, I ran the three Shi pages with corpse cleanup and had my fourth member run a smoke deck that focused on inflicting smoke w/blunt damage emphasis. Threw in multiple faint memories on Yujin, a bunch of one dice cards on Valentin (with just enough multi-dice cards to deal with the mass attack), and basically whatever I felt like on Tenma.

Rushed down the Mountain while occasionally blocking attacks with Valentin, and occasionally killing minions for health, then let the Mountain attack the bodies after it shrank down for a bit so I could kill them for health. After there were about two left I killed the Mountain, and from there killing the minions was just a matter of letting Yujin one/two shot them (at that point, the two minions that survived were below half health anyway).

All in all, aside from needing to be extra careful with which characters I let attack the minions - and when was the best time to do that - it was kind of a push over fight. It took me three tries, and even then I only failed the second time 'cause I misunderstood how one of Big Bad Wolf's abno cards worked (the one where you become unclashable). Had I understood that, I'd have nailed it on my second try.

Huh. I thought that it was intended, but I didn't think about how they don't include it in the passives.

I first thought is was some weird bug and I check their passives, didn't show any related to the respawning mechanism.

One of my favorite abnos, next to burrowing heaven.
Pretty neat, however having a void for information without showing it has another ability, for example tomerry having an ??? as an ability.
If mountain respawns or the corpses respawn, they need to be shown as an ability either by being ??? or simply being in the description.

About the fight itself, it was fun, got him to his third phase, I wanted to hear his scream once again and got him into second phase again.
saw that went nowhere and changed plans along with decks and focused mountain and sometimes blocked the bodies attacks and intercepted some of mountain devours, got him into the first phase and killed him.
cleared the left bodies in 1 scene and finished him.

It was pretty easy if im being honest and I like the fact that it makes you change plans by abusing his weakness and makes you change decks.
However his weakness was exploitable by an already strong strategy, that being blunt spam with full stop.

The wiki shows it actually has 4 passives in each phase, with I think 1 in each that goes unlisted in the actual battle(all 3 of which are related to the corpses spawning and to it reforming after dying if you don't finish the corpses off fast enough).

And clearly this isn't a case of wrong passive attribution(as when TRH had Scaredy's passive it WAS immune to all damage).

So its either that they just forgot to add it to the passive list but its still in effect, or it might be an ALEPH gimmick to have certain gimmicks hidden from the player and you're expected to know them from dealing with them back in LobCorp.
For this particular case I think its the former as MoSB never really split and reformed like that in LC.
It might also be a bug with how it changes phases after dying, since I don't think his passives were updated from phase 2 to phase 1 when I fought him

The passives added to mountain are actually added in a different way, and I wouldn't be surprised if a said passive was not added to the abnormality due to this different way of adding them.

Instead of stating the passives on the Abnormality's Key Page, they instead attached them onto the Mountain.

private void CreateThirdPhaseUnit() { BattleUnitModel battleUnitModel = Singleton<StageController>.Instance.AddNewUnit(Faction.Enemy, 9060303, 0, -1); battleUnitModel.SetDeadSceneBlock(false); battleUnitModel.passiveDetail.AddPassive(new PassiveAbility_603011()); battleUnitModel.passiveDetail.AddPassive(new PassiveAbility_603311()); battleUnitModel.passiveDetail.AddPassive(new PassiveAbility_603312()); battleUnitModel.LoseHp(100); }

Lowell's Key Page for reference, since most people have no idea what I am talking about
<Book ID="250002"> <Name>로웰</Name> <TextId>250002</TextId> <EquipEffect> <HP>89</HP> <Break>45</Break> <SpeedMin>2</SpeedMin> <Speed>6</Speed> <SResist>Normal</SResist> <PResist>Endure</PResist> <HResist>Normal</HResist> <SBResist>Normal</SBResist> <PBResist>Endure</PBResist> <HBResist>Normal</HBResist> <PassiveCost>16</PassiveCost> <Passive Level="1">10008</Passive> <Passive Level="1">250002</Passive> <Passive Level="1">250001</Passive> <OnlyCard>601008</OnlyCard> </EquipEffect> <BookIcon>LiuAssociation2</BookIcon> <Chapter>6</Chapter> <Rarity>Unique</Rarity> <CharacterSkin>Lowell</CharacterSkin> <SpeedDiceNum>1</SpeedDiceNum> </Book>
Before anyone asks me if other abnormalities have this property, the answer is no, this is the only one that has this style of adding Passives

my closest victory involved me killing all of them only to have them all respawn in the next scene

Thanks for the info as always. I guess we'll see if ALEPHs are gonna keep this trend up.

Bonus: I have found out why Phase 1 is not saying its correct line, it is because the PassiveAbility_603111 is referencing the wrong XML ID of the same name and instead is fetching the one from Phase 2 (will probably be fixed real soon tho)

As for the Passive Melted Corpses, I have no idea.

I facechecked this without any blunt emphasis decks and still managed to clear it. It's not too bad, you just need to block the bare minimum from the adds and focus mountain.

I didn't even know this boss had a respawn mechanic. In the last turn it was just 2 or 3 adds and I killed the boss the turn before. They were all already low, and I only lost a character because of the thorns effect on the adds that I forgot about.

All in all, this fight is definitely manageable. I personally do hope they keep some passives hidden. It subtly reminds me of trying to discover and memorize new abnormality behaviors in lobotomy corp.

I was expecting an Aleph to be harder you know? I beat it 2 try because of testing how it even works, but because how stupidly broken Lowel page is, you can just tank the ccorpses and go for main enemy. Moon please buff him.
Grim Xzag Nov 26, 2020 @ 6:04am
What's even funnier is that Mountain is one of the weakest ALEPH in LC, right after Army in Black.

Just sit tight and wait till we get the big boys(NT, Apoco, WN)
The only reason MoSB was even slightly a threat was because it started with 2 dangos.
