Eat My Flaming Bat!
I've always been slightly bitter that you have to get the weaker "Taste My Flaming Bat!" card from Lulu, and not the stronger "Eat My Flaming Bat! version. I want that 4-8 evade die.

... on a slightly more serious note, just saying that this is a good page. Combine Liquified Flesh with Your Shield, and this is one of the few pages that is likely to prevent "Trash Disposal" from getting it's recycled hit off.

well, it´s a boss variant, so it get a pass...

although, you can steal it with chesed´s abnormality "rake"

or you can install a mod that allows you to get ALL combat pages in the game
Ekimmak 2020 年 10 月 14 日 下午 4:12
That's fair enough. The catch with "Rake" is that it only works for that one battle. So as hilarious as it is to get a stupendously high amount of strength against Tomerry, if you managed to get that stagger off, you probably can already kill them.

I'm just looking about for pages that could reliably deal with Trash Disposal without... being Trash Disposal. And it turns out that good second turn evade die that still have an attack after it aren't that common.
DarkVortigan 2020 年 10 月 14 日 下午 4:14
yeah, "rake" is that good of an abnormality, but it´s amazing to steal blazing strike or would a square look nice?
Flygoniaks 2020 年 10 月 16 日 上午 9:38
If I recall correctly Lulu also gets a stronger version of "Set Fire" called "Set Ablaze."

I suppose it would be neat if we could get boss cards a bit later then the boss' own appearance progress-wise, so they match more closely the cards you'd normally get at that progress level.

-One idea would be to have newer General Invitations drop said boss cards. The fight itself doesn't have to be related to the cards, it would just be a way to ensure you need a later-game book to get the boss cards.

-Or maybe after unlocking certain missions ranks (Urban Plague, Star of the City, etc), bonus missions could appear as optional acts that drop said boss cards?

-Or have boss variants of cards locked on the book drop pool, and being at a certain library rank or unlocking certain mission ranks also unlocks the boss variants in the book's droppool?

I'd probably pick the third option. Wouldn't just have to be stuff like Eat my Flaming Bat, either, could also be (slightly altered) variants of other boss cards, too. Like Tomerry's various attacks (such as Love Whip), a Overcharge-esque version of the Triangle attack, Phillip's cards, the Circus, and so on). Helps build more deck options/variety, and shares the art a bit more.

We did actually get a few more of Philip's cards when the Crying Children reception came out. Stigmatize and Fierce Charge became available, along with a slightly doctored version of Blazing Strike.

But then, Philip just keeps showing up, so there's narrative reason to get more and more of his deck.
DarkVortigan 2020 年 10 月 16 日 下午 5:48
So I was bored and I decided to make a list of all unobtainable cards in the receptions

Lulu:

"Eat my flaming bat"

3-5 block dice
4-8 dodge dice, on clash win: enhance next die
3-4 blunt, on hit:inflict 2 burn

1-7 dodge
2-5 pierce

notes: only sweeper´s "trash disposal" can clash win against all dice, but it requires luck, especially against the last dice

quite literally "rejected humanity and returned to monki"

Elephant

"Bulky charge" cost: 0 light
2-6 blunt
2-4 blunt, on hit: deal 5 stagger damage to target
2-5 blunt

notes: this is the only character that doesn't buff allies, instead he only staggers you :D

"Murmur" cost: 1 light

2-5 block
4-7 slash, on hit: inflict 1 bind next scene

3-6 slash, on hit: inflict 1 feeble next scene
2-4 slash, on hit: 2 bind next scene

and that's it...

this took way longer than expected...

damn...

note: if they turned "victimize" into a 3 cost card and gave it to us, damn it would be easily one of the best cards in the game

DarkVortigan 2020 年 10 月 16 日 下午 5:49
oh, and i inflicted 53 stacks of burn on crying children...guess that's neat...
Ekimmak 2020 年 10 月 16 日 下午 10:15
I once rolled a 77 power Sanguine Desire on the final hit.

This does bring up that aside from "Trash Disposal", there aren't really any 4 die pages we have access to. But there's a lot of 3 die pages with evade die in them, and so getting lucky with that lets you clash all of their attacks.

That's why "Taste My Flaming Bat" is such a mainstay. I put it on someone with "Your Shield" and "Liquified Flesh", and that evade is actually pretty handy. Throw in some endurance buffs, and it gets even nicer.

"Flashing Strike" and "Will of the Prescript" are other cases of having evade die in nice places. It's just a matter of ensuring the dodge die matches up to an offensive die at the start, and not a defensive one.
Grim Xzag 2020 年 10 月 17 日 上午 2:53
The 0 light on the cards Philip (EGO) uses was from his passive that reduced all cards he used to 0 light

Shimmering: At the start of each Scene, exhaust all pages in hand and deck; add new pages to hand. Their Cost becomes 0.

The problem is this is the only card that is not effected by shimmering in the files, however judging by the cards we acquired from philip, we can assume all of his not acquired EGO cards cost 2 light (its just Rueful Eventide).

Anyway, I feel like we should be able to upgrade our Combat Pages somehow.
DarkVortigan 2020 年 10 月 17 日 上午 11:40
about the 4 dice cards problem, just realized that brawl has 4 dices...

well good luck copying brawl's dice with brawl
DarkVortigan 2020 年 10 月 17 日 上午 11:43
oh, and i didn't realize that Philip's (ego) cards had a cost, i thought they were like most of Tomerry's cards (their cost is listed as 0 in the combat preparation phase)

still, we are missing Rueful Eventide tho...
fish444 2020 年 10 月 18 日 上午 5:12
Is there a single Shimmering passive, or are there multiple Shimmering passives, one for each boss?
Like the effect is well described, but from what i saw a while ago, I thought there is one shimmering passive for each boss, based on IDs.
Example: Tomerry has a different Shimmering than Phillip.
I think Tomerry doesn't have a deck as well until they transforms or something?
Does Shimmering work like this: At the end of turn, discard your hand.
At the start of turn, draw 3 cards and reduce their cost to zero.
Basically like a stronger Lie. I'm not sure because enemy exclusive cards tend to have 0 cost.
Most of Red Riding Hood's cards are 0 cost for example.

From how combat pages work, you can use combat pages exclusive to enemies.
You could use King of Greed's instant kill page, though there are way stronger pages than that one, and it feels buggy.
I tested some things, and there are youtube channels that showcase enemy pages and/or combat cards.
Something like fighting Ego Phillip with Crying children Phillip.

there's multiple shimmering each with different cards that it draw
