The enemies on the other hand seem to have a full hand at all times and never have dead hands or run out of cards.
I've come into the fight pretty prepared (corpse removal/instant cooking on everyone) and I get constantly staggered because they basically have a free handlock to spam Turbulence with.
It's the first story fights in a very long time that I haven't beat first attempt because their raw dice power is so much better than anything you have on top of having hidden buffs like a larger starting hand.
Enemies have always had boosted stats (Yujin has 108 health in her reception), Hell the Liu have 118 hp each despite their page only having 84.
I know you're all upset probably because Liu whooped your ass, but rebuild your decks and utilise the new passive system, once you defeat the first act, the second is much easier because you keep your emotion level and ego. The second liu fight is doable for the same reason.
It's doable though, if you cheat like hell with Cleanup and/or Cooking. Never needed more then a single team to beat all waves in the first and second invitations.
Honestly, its kind of insane... Like, you MUST use Corpse Cleanup or you CANNOT beat them. And we can only put this on like, two and a half floors, maybe 3 with Instant Cooking.
So then what? 7/10 floors will be unfit for combat because they lack the essential 20% healing. That's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ design, no?
They should probably nerf the hell outta Corpse Cleanup (atleast for the player-side), and nerf the Liu BIG TIME to compensate (or allow like, 2 floors for the first invitation, and 2-3 for the second one). But i guess this is a smidge off-topic... Hm...
With the new emotion system, all the Star of the City invitation could be a race to see whichever side reaches level 3 emotion and that is where both sides starts to snowball hard
Its also quite hard to enter the fight with 2nd reception when the enemy is at around level 3-5 emotion due to them having more speed die and +power on the dice (i almost got myself wiped on my first try bringing in 2nd reception against 2 Liu enemies at emotion 4+ at 1st act)
Overall I think the difficulty is actually fine after going through it, I probably should've taken the loss the first time around to get some of their combat pages just to use those against them.
