So if i use a 3-cost card + Loosen Up (to gain 1 light), when at 3 light, my next turn has me at 2 light.
Or when using Collission, just raw as-is, and it wins both clashes, it gives me back 2 light plus the 1 light you get every turn, putting me back at 3 again next turn.
(Sometimes Collission fails one out of two clashes, but with Loosen Up following it i still get a total of +2 light regen on top of the one every turn, putting me back at 3.)
There's also there cases of...
-Causing a enemy to stagger gives the unit who staggered it 1 light.
-Upon reaching a higher emotion level, the unit recovers all light, and increases their max light pool by 1.
Either way, the light system seems fine to me, though it kind of encourages abuse of high-level cards in conjunction with Loosen Up or Clean Up for light regen to continue spamming 2 and 3-cost cards, and going all-out when you're about to gain an emotion level since your light is recuperated anyway.
If you're doing first Daring Decision(consume 3 light set you on 0), then Wait Up! (regen 1 light, set you to 1) you will end the turn with 1 light before start of turn light regen kicks in
