Just to be clear, "Myst: Masterpiece Edition" is the original Myst ungraded, and realMyst is a 3D remake?
Just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

IIRC, I was told somewhere that realMyst didn't have a Masterpiece Edition. So it does now, and replaced the just "realMyst" game?

realMyst: Masterpiece Edition released 7 years ago, in 2014. I don't know why someone told you it didn't exist, that's really odd.

realMyst was discontinued and removed from sale on all digital stores in 2018: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/real_myst_is_leaving_gogcom_on_the_18th_70_off_discount_now_active/page1
