Report a translation problem
The devs have indicated they'd like to bring that to the Myst remake, but it's not confirmed to be in development at this time, and I imagine they have their hands full with the Riven remake.
There are other minor differences between the two versions.
This version looks more realistic, which I think makes it somewhat more immersive.
Some people complained about the CG renders in the new version compared to the old videos, but there's an option now to switch back to the legacy versions (with the exception of the ending).
Plus, as has been mentioned, this version has VR support, which was a big selling point for me.
