Any way to force DX11 in game pass version?
Maybe it will fix stutters on older videocards (like mine GTX 970)?

If you can find out where the binary itself is, you can make a shortcut for it and add this argument: "-d3d11" (without quotes). We have not tested the Windows version on Gamepass with this, in fact they require dx12 for gamepass, so please let me know if the game will even run with this shortcut on gamepass.

Is there a source for this? Twelve Minutes, Quake and Train Sim World 2 were all released in the last week and use DirectX 11 (or Vulkan). Even Quake, a first-party Microsoft title doesn't contain any support for DirectX 12.

On topic, accessing the executables for Windows Store apps not flagged as moddable requires stealing permissions to access to the WindowsApps folder from the Trusted Installer, which involves some convoluted steps. It's not a good idea unless you're familiar with rooting around in settings menus and feel comfortable changing security policy owners and whatnot.

It would be much (relatively) simpler for Cyan to just add a renderer toggle in-game. As others have mentioned in separate threads, other than lacking RTX and DLSS support, there's no issues with running the game in DX11, so might as well just make it an official setting.

Flight Sim users have been asking for DX12 ironically but is still DX 11 for PC - its console thats DX12 only - there's no tech reason for MS/xbox to request DX12 only for PC

There are so many games on Gamepass that are DirectX 11 only. I'd say more than half of them are DX11 only.

And yeah, Flight Sim is an amazing example. I WISH DirectX 12 was required for all Gamepass games, even if it is just to have a DX12 mode alongside DX11.
