Hi there, the game will choose the audio device to render sound to that your VR settings have chosen. If they are different from your system settings, this could cause this issue. I recommend setting your default audio device to your VR headset to see if this resolves the issue for now.

Try to first launch VR and then the game. That solved that issue in Obduction for me

Excellent!

I'm getting this seemingly at random. Other VR apps always play through the headset. Closing and reopening Myst gets it working correctly on the first or second attempt.

I take my previous comment back. Audio is now missing no matter how many times I restart.

SteamVR is set to use the headset for audio output and all other VR applications I've tried work correctly.

could be that you're not focused on myst on ur desktop, found that out when i was playing and opened to use discord, once i clicked on discord to send a message all the audio disspeared. re clicking on myst brought the audio back

That could definitely be one way to make it happen. For me it seems to break if I remove my headset during the Cyan logo animation while the game starts. I usually use that time to adjust the position.

My problem was definitely the program not being focused on. Audio returned when I went into desktop view and clicked on it.

Will concur with the others here on the program focus issue. Never seen this in any other VR application. Hopefully it can be fixed. Playing on a Quest via Virtual Desktop a few rooms away from my PC and it is highly inconvenient when it happens.

It has happened on many Steam games with Quest 3.
This discussion has some tips to try for a fix:

When you launch your game via virtual Desktop or Steam link, sometimes on any VR supported game you will experience loss of audio. This is because you are not focused on the application on the desktop. you can do 2 things.

1. During in game, use the pc mouse and simply left click on the game screen, audio will return

2. during ingame, open up VR Dashboard and click on the desktop and use your controller and point at the screen as well as clicking the trigger. your audio will return.

these work if you have your audio settings correct. It's just a focusing issue with steamVR. Not an issue with Cyan.
