WMR support
Okay, you know the drill. The devs didn't care enough to test the game properly on WMR, or even implement compatibility.

On release day, today, I want to ask if someone has bought the game and actually tried it on a WMR headset. This could be valuable information to us WMR potential buyers (although getting ignored like this is a good indicator that they don't want our money, be it few or much).

Anyone tried it? Custom bindings or something?

Works just fine on my G2 so far. On first launch Steam VR detects a community G2 binding that you must select, but after that, no issues.

oh really? ok seems I'm doing something wrong. Maybe the controls are not applied correctly? Need to try again. Can't "click" in anyway on the mainmenu

Outside of VR, open Steam VR and click the hamburger menu. Go to Devices > Controller settings. Then click Manage Controller Bindings in the window that appears, and select Myst.

If it’s applied correctly you’ll see “HP Motion Controllers” above Edit this Binding. If not, click the Choose Another button to add the binding.

Works great on Odyssey Plus. I had to remap the controls, which didn't take long.

Works fine on original Odyssey as well, by following the instructions posted by FuzzyPuffin. There are custom WMR bindings uploaded by "unnamedau" which work pretty well. Thank you for uploading...whoever u are!

Same story on Carrier Command 2. It's like all the game Devs in the world have a meeting, and decided to screw over any WMR VR (like the new HP Reverb G2) and threw out the one guy who mentioned supporting us!

Stop ignoring WMR because ya too lazy to buy a G2 HP Reverb Headset! It's a good VR headset!

Got a copy of your control scheme? I'm also on the Odyssey (1st gen, same controllers). Used the community bindings and they're ok. But I wondered if there was anything better.

Also, how do you go about rebinding controls? I go to the rebinding menu, and can't figure out what I'm supposed to do to make it work for another control system.

Yeah, the bind names in Steam VR can be ambiguous to put it politely. They're not always user-friendly.

My control scheme is called 'Shared Binding from Uberdose'.

To rebind, hover the pointer over the bind you want to edit. A pencil icon will appear in the lower left corner. Click it to edit. Click the checkmark when done. Each input can do more than one bind. Click the plus sign if you want to add a bind.

Here it is in some detail:
Triggers: Use as Trigger: Pull - L Pointing; R Pointing
Use as Button: Click - VRMenuSelect_Left; VRMenuSelect_Right

Trackpads: Use as Trackpad: Click - Camera; Run Toggle

Grips: Use as Button: Click - VR_Grab_Left; VR_Grab_Right
Use as Button: Click - VR_Grip_Left; VR_Grip_Right

Menu buttons: Use as Button: Click - Menu Toggle; ResetHMD

Joysticks: Use as Joystick: Position - MotionControllerThumbLeft; MotionControllerThumbRight

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hopefully Cyan will add official WMR support, as is the case with Obduction. It does, in fact, work by loading the control schemes uploaded by users (thanks to everyone who has taken the time to map them, and have graciously shared them)

I also have the HP Reverb G2.
Except for the menu, I can't get any further.
Can't choose anything!

I mean, why can't you program something so simple for Windows Mix Reality?
This is part of the VR game that supports all headsets as possible.
Otherwise, what is the point of pissing off the community?
I sincerely hope that you will include this in the next patches! :steamfacepalm:

It doesn't say "Windows Mixed Reality" is a supported device on the store page. If you look at Half-Life: Alyx for example, that says this headset is supported.

Hope it all works out for you though.

Thanks for sharing your controls in the community. They're dope!

Cyan...we know you're listening...you've granted other requests...please give us official WMR support. You have many people who have already bought this game, and others wanting to if given support by the dev. And please build in WMR in Firmament from launch!

No plans to announce regarding adding WMR support, sorry.

For Firmament, the planned-to-be-supported platforms are Windows PC, Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive, Valve Index, MacOS, PS4, and PSVR. If things change on that front, Firmament's Kickstarter Updates will provide details as they happen.
